Will your next car be electric?
Transcript
00:00 Well, I'm sort of ecologically minded actually and I know how bad it is what we do to our planet.
00:10 But I've got a problem as well, you know, electric cars, lots of issues with batteries, recharging.
00:17 You know, if I want to go maybe to France, how am I going to deal with all that, you know, having recharging and things like that.
00:25 That's one of the problems actually. Again, it's my sort of comfort, isn't it?
00:30 It's easier for me to put diesel in and go but obviously in that sense at the moment I'm not ready to change.
00:38 But I'm hoping that, you know, something will be done in a way that it can be more convenient for everybody so we can use electric cars as well.
00:48 And bear in mind, electricity is not easy to produce as well. Sometimes it's not that, you know, ecological, that sounds that it is.
01:01 For that reason maybe, for me at the moment, no.
01:05 I doubt it. No, couldn't afford it.
01:10 So do you drive currently?
01:11 Yeah, I do, yeah.
01:13 And what do you plan to do with your car?
01:15 Run it for as long as I can get away with it really, essentially.
01:20 And why will you do that?
01:22 Because it's all I can afford and I don't really know what else is better that's out there that's genuinely affordable.
01:28 I'm a little bit unsure about electric cars. I think they're a bit of a panacea. I don't think they're that good necessarily.
01:35 There's a lot of problems with them. I think we should be trying to retrofit things, keep things going on the road, make them better rather than just go, right, it's electric or nothing, essentially.
