A woman tracked down a stranger on Facebook after spotting him in a newspaper - and made him her husband after moving 5,756 miles to be with him.

Avigail Adam, 42, had just come out of a break up when she spotted Tom Szaky, 42, in the business section in a newspaper.

The mum-of-four was “impressed” by his recycling business and his “handsome face” and tracked him down on Facebook and reached out.

Tom replied and agreed to meet up for a drink, but despite pursing him in the first place Avigail didn’t feel “sparks” and turned down a second date.

Tom was “infatuated” and persuade Avigail to meet up with him again – flying her out in first class to Holland, the Netherlands, for a conference.

A month later he arranged for her to join him on a road trip around the US and the pair hit it off after Avigail agreed to be his girlfriend.

The couple were long distance for two years until Avigail fell pregnant with their first son Leo, now eight– and she moved 5,756 miles to New Jersey, US, from Tel Aviv, Israel.

Avigail and Tom married the same year and now have four children together - Leo, eight, Jamie, five, Maya, two, and Ben, three months.

Avigail, a jewellery designer, from Titusville, New Jersey, US, said: “I was heartbroken over another guy.

“I started reading articles in a newspaper and one was about Tom.

“He had just launched his recycling company in Israel. I was really impressed.

“I thought his picture was cute.

“A week goes by, and the newspaper is still open on his face. His handsome, beautiful face.

“I thought if I find this guy on Facebook, I’m going to write to him.

“I did and asked him for a drink.

“He was infatuated by me, but I wasn’t feeling sparks.

“I’m so happy he didn’t let me go.

“I can’t imagine not having this life together with Tom.

“He makes all my dreams come true.”

Tom said: "I had started thinking about who my dream person is and wanted someone strong, independent and a bit down to earth.

"When I met Avigail she was exactly what I had in mind - what I had been hoping for."

Avigail had just come out of a relationship when she spotted Tom in the business section of Ha’aretz newspaper in February 2012.

She had picked up the paper by chance after being told by the cashier they were being thrown out the next day.

After reading about his business, she decided to find him on Facebook and get in touch.

Avigail said: “I said ‘what you are doing is really inspiring. If you are in the area let's grab a drink.’

“He replied –‘great I am coming next month - let's grab a drink.’

“I thought the first date was a disaster.

“I said no to another date.

“But he wouldn’t stop.

“He invited me to a conference in Holland.

“I thought it would be a fun rebound.

“I started liking him more after each trip.”

Tom planned a road trip for Avigail and flew her out to the US – travelling up to Canada and down to Michigan.

She said: “It was so much fun.

“At the beginning he said ‘are you my girlfriend now?’ and I told him to as
