Joe Nicholson reacts after Sunderland's 2-1 win over Rotherham at the Stadium of Light following two goals from Jobe Bellingham.
Transcript
00:00 Outside the stadium of Lightwear, Sunderland have recorded their first win of the season, a 2-1 win over Rotherham.
00:08 It could have been more to be honest, in the end they had a couple of chances, particularly in that second half to score even more goals.
00:14 But 2-1 it finished and a welcome result for Tony Mowbray after those back-to-back defeats against Preston and Ipswich in the first two games of the season.
00:23 Sunderland fell behind again today when Hakim Addofin opened the scoring for Rotherham in the 20th minute, despite Sunderland seeing more of the ball in those early exchanges.
00:32 It was quite a familiar story really with Sunderland dominating possession but lacking that kind of cutting edge, that focal point up front.
00:39 Bradley Dac was once again played in a false line position today with Jemeyer on the bench.
00:43 It was an unchanged side from the team which lost at Preston last weekend and Rotherham, as I said, took the lead in the 20th minute.
00:51 To be fair to Sunderland, as they did at Preston last weekend, they reacted well to falling behind.
00:56 They equalised within two minutes of that Rotherham goal and it was Joe Bellingham who got the equaliser, his first senior goal for Sunderland.
01:04 It was a good cross from Jack Clark to the back post. Dan Neal made a run from midfield, headed the ball back across goal and Bellingham was there to nod it in.
01:11 There were some good performances today. Bellingham in the number 10 position, really impressive.
01:15 He got the winner as well shortly after half-time set-up by Dac and a neat finish from him.
01:19 He could have even had a hat-trick, Bellingham had a couple of more chances in that second half.
01:23 But he was a threat, getting into some good positions. Neal was very good today, making some forward runs from midfield.
01:28 And Clark and Roberts, as they usually are, were big threats on the wings, taking on their full-backs and causing problems for Rotherham throughout the afternoon.
01:36 And as I said before, Sunderland could have had more.
01:39 They had a couple of chances at the end but didn't really test Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Paterson too much.
01:44 And Sunderland come away with three points to get their season up and running.
01:49 They now have an away game against Coventry next weekend, so it will be a tough game against the Sidelooks.
01:54 We're in the play-off final last season.
01:57 You can read more about today's results, you can head over to the SCFC section of the Sunderland Echo website for a reaction from Tony Mowbray.
02:04 Analysis from today's game and also a transfer update.
02:07 The Sunderland head coach saying that they're very close to bringing in a new signing as well.
