00:00 I think it was much busier than I had hoped for because as a goalkeeper if you're busy
00:05 then it just means there's something wrong going in front but thankfully I was there doing my job
00:10 so that's all that's all I'm really happy with my performance and just hopefully we can push
00:15 this forward going as a team. There was a real flurry of saves at the start of that second
00:19 half in particular with the spell of pressure you were making double saves and a penalty in
00:24 normal time. I know you've got a reputation of being a good penalty saver from your career,
00:28 you've saved a few in your days. Yeah a few, I don't think the boys would say that I get a lot
00:32 of stick or the goalies get a lot of stick for diving the wrong way for penalties but
00:36 yeah hopefully I put that behind me now and yeah the first start of the first second half
00:43 we just wanted we weren't we didn't start it and obviously I've done my job made a string of saves
00:51 and with a penalty but then that I think we did improve from there we got away with it and you
00:57 know I think after that we kind of pushed on and started to create more chances and looked a bit
01:01 more solid at the back. Did that little series of saves before the penalty in the 90 minutes did
01:06 that kind of just give you an extra shot of confidence when you did line up for that penalty?
01:10 Yeah I think if you're playing well and you're going to a penalty shootout situation where you're
01:16 a goalkeeper and outfielder I think that that always helps certainly doesn't hurt you so yeah
01:22 I always managed to make the winning save at the end and you know picked that man on that so really
01:27 happy with my performance. In the competition that you have with Tom for that number one shot it just
01:32 goes on and on you know of course and you know that when you get the jersey you've got to make
01:36 it count that's got to be running through your mind when you're playing in these games? Yeah I
01:39 think was it before the game that's obviously you're disappointed for not starting the league
01:43 games and you know there's there's two ways you can go about it you can sulk and kind of just feel
01:49 sorry for yourself or you can put in performance like that to give the manager was a bit of a
01:55 headache and so that's kind of my job was going out there just putting a good performance you know
02:01 just for myself just to show that you know I can still play I should be playing in my opinion but
02:08 again the manager's it's his choice and again I think the competition for me and Tom is brilliant
02:14 as you can see. Yeah I think as you know as pre-season went on it was it obviously was a
02:19 slow start pre-season and then kind of but I do feel though as the season now of the first game
02:25 wasn't ideal we kind of lacked of was it firing power up top and I just think we're naturally
02:30 progressing a bit of a slow burner but I do feel was it every week there is a progression and that's
02:36 I think that's all that we can ask for and I think that's what the the managers was it
02:40 taken away and it's poised about.
