00:00 Now, the Chevrolet Traverse itself has always ranked in the top ten bestsellers.
00:04 I think Mayor Scheel mentioned that.
00:06 And at a point in time, there were up to 50 different competitors in this segment.
00:09 So to be in the top ten was good.
00:12 But we'd like to improve on that and make sure that our performance continues with the
00:15 positive momentum that we've got at the moment.
00:18 Now since its debut in 2009, I can tell you that we've built 1.65 million Traverses.
00:24 1.65 million.
00:27 That's a lot of Traverses.
00:28 That's awesome.
00:29 Thank you.
00:30 [Applause]
00:31 Certainly, from my perspective, there's absolutely no doubt that the Traverse will be one of
00:37 the best-selling nameplates for Chevrolet.
00:40 So from that point of view, it's got a huge opportunity moving forward.
00:44 And likewise, we've got great ambitions for the platform mates to the Traverse in terms
00:49 of the Buick Enclave and the GMC Acadia as well.
00:53 Now we actually expect that demand is going to be super strong.
00:56 I've given you some of the sound bites, 55% up in the first half of the year, growing
01:00 segment, et cetera, et cetera.
01:02 And with that, we expect to be able to add a third shift next year here at Lansing Delta
01:06 Township.
01:07 So again, superb.
01:08 [Applause]
01:09 I think you look at the vehicle, it's completely redesigned from the ground up.
01:19 It's very much meant to be engineered and designed to look much more like a truck, and
01:25 act more like a truck, as you'll see in the Z71 here in a second.
01:28 The designers did a great job balancing crossover cues as well as some truck-inspired design
01:33 elements in the Traverse, more rugged than ever before here, with the first-ever Z71
01:41 nameplate.
01:42 Now, safety is certainly important to our customers and certainly paramount to our owners
01:46 of Traverse.
01:48 We will offer more safety features than ever before here, driver assistance features, including
01:53 Chevy safety assist as standard across the board, and new features like rear park assist
01:59 and side bicyclist alert.
02:01 Now, we all know the number one thing that we can do to protect ourselves in a crash,
02:06 our families in a crash, our passengers in a crash, is to wear a seatbelt.
02:10 And that's why we've updated the buckle to drive feature on the new Traverse, which now
02:15 requires both the front passenger as well as the driver to be buckled before you drive.
02:21 And for the first time ever on Traverse, we will have rear seatbelt reminders for the
02:25 driver so they'll know whether their passengers are buckled in or not.
02:29 Now, Super Cruise is also available on most models here.
02:31 This is a new technology in the Traverse lineup.
02:35 Includes automatic lane change capability and trailering capability.
02:40 It's a proven technology.
02:41 It's been in the market since 2017, with more than 77 million miles driven by customers
02:47 using Super Cruise so far.
02:49 Now, the all-new 24 Traverse, we are redefining its role and capability, and that's going
02:55 to put more Traverses in more driveways very soon.
02:59 So we're proud to recognize the women and men here who have built more than 1.65 million
03:05 units that Rory talked about earlier, right here in Michigan, and have been doing it since
03:10 2009.
