Mercedes-Benz continuously expands its charging service and has set several records in October. The Mercedes me Charge network now includes over 2 million charging points worldwide from more than 1,600 different charge point operators. With the expansion to Australia and New Zealand, customers in 32 countries across four continents benefit from this convenient charging service. In Europe, users can charge at over 750,000 points across borders with just one Mercedes me Charge contract. Easy operation, transparent costs, and an extensive charging network – Mercedes me Charge meets key customer requirements for public charging.
Of the 2 million charging points, more than 250,000 are high-power fast charging points with at least 150 kW. The Mercedes me Charge network is also one of the fastest-growing charging networks: in 2024, an average of 55,000 new charging points were integrated monthly, more than ever before. The share of high-power fast-charging stations grew particularly strongly by 55 percent since the beginning of 2024, while AC/DC charging stations with less than 150 kW increased by 31 percent.

00:00Hi, my name is Timo. I'm one of the product managers of Mercedes me Charge, and today
00:12I would like to tell you something about our public charging service.
00:19When it comes to public charging, there are three things that are important for EV drivers
00:23– access, convenience and transparency. Our public charging service Mercedes me Charge
00:29fulfils these needs and offers a lot more. To register for Mercedes me Charge, you need
00:34to click on your vehicle, select manage services, charging, and then you can already see Mercedes
00:41me Charge, from which it's a few clicks to register and experience the ease of public
00:47charging.
00:52When you plan a route, you're not always in the car. Sometimes you're still at home,
00:56on your couch, and looking for a destination from your smartphone. Actually, the Mercedes
01:01me app is the perfect way to do so. Let's say, for example, you would like to go to
01:05Hamburg. You can simply click on route. The trip will be planned, including required charging
01:11stops. By clicking on the icon of the charging stop, you will find additional information
01:16about it. For example, you can see the charge point operator, the available charging sockets,
01:22and also the estimated charging costs that are required to reach 100% state of charge.
01:28You will also find information about the available authentication methods at that charging point,
01:33and you will even get a star rating from past users of that charging station.
01:37When you have found your destination, let's say, for example, while still on your couch,
01:41you can also transfer to your vehicle by clicking on the central vehicle button. After
01:48that, when entering the vehicle, the destination information will pop up in the MBUX multimedia
01:53system. By simply clicking on the icon, you can then start the navigation. Another and
01:58probably even easier way to set your route is directly via the MBUX multimedia system.
02:04So let's get to it. Hey Mercedes, navigate me to Mercedes-Benz in Berlin. MBUX will automatically
02:12add the required charging stops to the route. This is what we call navigation with electric
02:17intelligence. By simply clicking on the icon, you will find additional information such
02:22as the required state of charge before continuing on your route. In the charging point details,
02:27you can find information such as the maximum energy output of that charging point and also
02:32your approximate costs. And if you would like to change your charging stops along
02:36the route, you can do so by clicking on the navigation. Then on route, enter the charging
02:40station options. And there you have several filter options for the charging stations along
02:45the route. For example, you can filter for the location of the charging station, also
02:50the charging speed, but you can also add preferences to your filtering such as the availability
02:56of the charging stations, but also desired authentication methods such as plug and charge.
03:02And you will even get a notification on your phone when you have reached your needed state
03:06of charge. If you would like to find charging stations that are close to you, you can do
03:15so by simply asking MBUX, but also by clicking on that button here next to the search. You
03:21will then find displayed some charging stations that are close to you and you can even apply
03:26the filtering options that you're already used to. With just one charging contract,
03:35Mercedes me Charge customers can access a variety of different charging points from
03:40different charging operators in the same easy and convenient way. To access the charge point,
03:45you can either use your off ID card, the Mercedes me app by simply scanning the QR code on the
03:52station or MBUX or at selected charging stations. You can also use plug and charge by simply
03:59plugging in the charging cable into your charging socket. The charging session will start automatically.
04:09And with the Mercedes me app, you can also review your past transactions by simply clicking
04:14on my transactions, charging, and then you can go through month per month to see what
04:19you have charged in the last few months. And it even tells you the amount of CO2 that
04:24has been offset by your cream charging. Thank you for watching. We hope you enjoyed the
04:28video and that you will be able to experience the ease of charging with Mercedes me Charge
04:33by yourself soon.
