Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he felt vindicated by the Kuala Lumpur High Court's decision to discharge and acquit him of four charges involving abuse of power to obtain a RM232.5mil gratification for Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
The former prime minister told reporters that on Tuesday (Aug 15) following Justice Muhammad Jamil Hussin’s ruling that all four charges were defective, baseless and vague, and claimed that the charges were politically motivated from the beginning.
Meanwhile, lead counsel Datuk Hisyam Teh Poh Teik told reporters that based on Tuesday's ruling, the defense team is confident that the three counts brought against the Bersatu president under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act (AMLA) 2001 (AMLA) The charges will be dropped.
