00:00 The AFP is studying how to recruit fishermen as reservists to guard the West Philippine Sea

00:09 in the face of the fishing militias there, mostly controlled by the Chinese Coast Guard.

00:17 When the Chinese ships blocked the resupply ships and escorts of the Philippine Coast Guard

00:46 The two Chinese fishing militias, 85% of all fishing militias in the West Philippine Sea and controlled by the Chinese Coast Guard,

00:58 joined the two ships that blocked and escorted the Philippine Navy ships.

01:00 The other two, the fishing militias of Vietnam and other countries that are being occupied by the Philippines.

01:06 The President said that the Philippine and Vietnam allies are hoping to form an alliance to strengthen the maritime cooperation between the two.

01:13 The Philippines doesn't have a fishing militia, so the AFP is planning to recruit fishermen from Kalayaan Island to guard the West Philippine Sea.

01:23 We will also make fisher-folks reservists and we will teach them how to help in defending our country.

01:32 The group of fishermen agreed to serve in the defense of the sovereignty of the country, but on the condition that they will not be armed.

01:41 If we will just give them expatriates, that's okay, that's good, we can help them.

01:46 If they are armed, we will not let them go because it's dangerous for our fellow fishermen.

01:53 The fishermen in Kalayaan Island are avoiding the Chinese ships.

01:58 They are also afraid that they might be water-cannoned or even hit by a tanker,

02:03 as happened to the resupply ships in Ayunginshol.

02:06 Meanwhile, AFP saw some unmanned aerial vehicles or UAVs that are not used to the "himpapawid" of Puerto Princesa,
