Everton boss Sean Dyche says he wants to do better than last season as he prepares a tough game from Fulham in their Premier League opener
Transcript
00:00 Probably a broad question, but what expectations do you have of your squad this season?
00:04 I think overall, doing better than last, or the last couple of seasons, but obviously in my time here.
00:11 Good work done enough to make sure we're in the division, of course, that was the biggest challenge.
00:17 And then from there, can we take some of the stuff we've learnt from that forwards and improve?
00:22 I think that's the first step.
00:24 I'd imagine you've got confidence that they can do better than last season.
00:27 What gives you that confidence?
00:29 Yeah, certainly I've got confidence.
00:30 I think having a pre-season with the players, we've had a few for different reasons,
00:34 came in late and stuff because of internationals and a couple of injuries,
00:38 but generally having a pre-season with them and rubbing off hopefully more with what we expect from them.
00:45 And some of the things I think are important.
00:47 So, you know, the truth is when the whistle blows, you know,
00:50 but so far, I think during pre-season, it's been a pretty solid pre-season.
00:54 There's been good performances and a good energy and belief in what we're doing.
00:58 so we want that to obviously go into the first game and beyond.
