00:00 How much do people need to earn to be happy?
00:02 - Again, subjective.
00:05 What you're outgrowing is what you're incoming is.
00:07 If people have got a home,
00:10 they've got an income, they can eat well,
00:12 they've got a social life,
00:14 people are generally happy.
00:16 - Yeah, what about you, Logan?
00:17 - Yeah, same opinion, you know, honestly.
00:19 Well, I've only really had the experience
00:22 of Arizona and here,
00:24 so my growth as an individual is definitely way different
00:26 from his, he's been everywhere.
00:28 - Yeah, but in terms of like income
00:31 and money that you made,
00:32 would you say that's a big factor on happiness?
00:35 In terms of money that you make,
00:36 money that you have, you know, is that big?
00:39 - Yeah, I think so as well.
00:41 But I think realistically, it's, like you said,
00:43 you know, the social aspect is a really big factor.
00:46 If you're hanging out with people,
00:47 if you're being social and you're doing stuff,
00:49 you know, your income isn't really a factor in that.
00:52 - I think you stay in mind with money is,
00:56 you can have a lot of money.
00:58 I've had more money than I have now.
01:00 It didn't make me any happier.
01:02 It's just an extra tool to use
01:05 that we were told to believe it will make you happy.
01:08 - Yeah.
01:09 - But we get on the society, the wagon wheel,
01:12 and the more we earn, the more we're supposed to spend,
01:16 and the more we're supposed to accumulate,
01:18 the more we're supposed to better ourselves by saying,
01:21 well, I started off in a small two-bedroom house,
01:23 now I need to expand to a three-bedroom,
01:26 I need to move up, vice versa, get a better car.
01:29 And you usually find when you've got it,
01:31 it's not really different.
01:33 - Yeah, how much? - Oh, money's nothing,
01:34 nothing, no, look, I don't think happiness costs anything,
01:36 to be honest with you.
01:38 Yeah, just go to work, do your job,
01:41 do what you need to do, yeah,
01:42 and just enjoy life, like I say.
01:45 - Especially at this time, I mean, I'm retired now,
01:47 so it's slightly different.
01:49 To be quite honest, it's very, very difficult to,
01:53 'cause I have to be slightly out of touch
01:54 with what people are earning now,
01:56 but the fact is that people who are in well-paid jobs
01:59 are still having to go to food banks,
02:00 indicates that possibly a lot more than they're getting.
02:04 But I can't say I can actually put a figure on it,
02:06 to be quite honest.
