02:13 because parang it's such a great show. You know, I was preparing for work, tas may napanoon
02:17 akong isang episode, na-hook ako. Pati yung husband ko and my daughter, they just happened
02:22 to be in the room with me. Pati sila na-hook. Tas, adamin na tinatanong na backstory. Sabi
02:26 ko, "Wait lang, nanonood pa ako. Mamaya ako na-explain yung backstory." Basta love triangle
02:32 yan of sorts. So, congratulations. Kamusta yung feedback on the show?
02:36 Thank you. First of all, thank you. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions. Especially,
02:42 diba, it's the first collab. And then, I've been working with new people, new production
02:48 team, new co-artists, new co-actors. So, it's been really such a journey for me, especially
02:55 when it comes to growth as a person and as an actor. Kasi syempre, diba, I'm out of my
03:00 comfort zone. I'm out of GMA, technically, 'cause it's a DreamScape production. So, they're not the
03:07 usual people I work with, diba, usually. Kasi when we're working on a soap here in GMA, same faces,
03:13 same people, same routine. This one is totally different. So, ang saya, ang sayang maging out
03:19 of your comfort zone. You really learn a lot. And parang lagi kang on your toes. For me kasi,
03:25 when I'm pressured and when I'm on my toes, I work really well with that kind of pressure. So,
03:30 ayun, happy naman ako sa feedback. Mukha namang nahu-hook yung mga tao, especially when we read
03:36 the feedback online. And also on the set kasi, everybody's just really working hard for the
03:42 show since we're making history, since it's the first collab. So, parang lahat kami, "Narealize
03:46 nyo ba kung gano'ng kabigit 'tong project na 'to?" Kasi it's technically the first time GMA and ABS
03:52 worked together. So, ayun, we're just really so happy. And ako, especially ako, I'm happy because
03:58 bukod sa napaka-prestigious project niya, it's also an opportunity for me to grow.
04:03 How long ba were you taping? I mean, because, diba, a lot of it was filmed in Switzerland.
04:10 And parang everything's so scenic. Tapos, ang ganda naman talaga. How long were you there?
04:14 We were there for about a month. Actually, in Switzerland, I was there for a week. And then,
04:19 three weeks in Milan. Kasi mas madami akong scenes in Milan, Italy. Then after that,
04:24 we're shooting the Manila Leg na. We're currently shooting it right now. Ongoing siya. Medyo mahaba
04:29 din yung Manila Leg. But the first three weeks of the show, first three or four weeks, they're all
04:35 shot in Europe. Kaya, ang laking laking role din nung lugar sa storya namin. I would guess,
04:41 Nona, iba'y yung bond ng cast. Especially if you have to film abroad. Kasi, siyempre, diba, parang
04:47 it's a new experience for everyone. Tapos, kayo kayo lang din magkakakilala dun. So, paglalabas,
04:52 kayo kayo lang din. Tama, tama. Kami-kami lang din nagdadama yan. So, nang homesick, or pag napapagod,
04:59 or pag rest day, kami-kami lang din yung nagdadama yan. So, parang, in a way, blessing din siya. Not
05:05 just for the show, but for the people as well. Mas naging tight yung bond, mas naging close,
05:11 mas naging comfortable. Eh, yung show kasi namin medyo mabigat. Heavy drama siya talaga. So,
05:17 it's so important that you're really comfortable with each other. May chance ba for you guys to
05:23 go out and explore? I mean, I saw on your social media na you had pictures na talaga kumakain
05:28 na ice cream, ganyan. Pero, marami ba kayong chances to really go out and explore after filming?
05:34 You know what? Parang not so much. Because we were really packed with our schedule. Parang,
05:41 ang schedule namin dun, five days straight taping, and then one day rest, and then five days again.
05:46 So, parang, sa rest day, kasi kanya-kanya nang, syempre ang daming isho-shopping, ang daming mga
05:51 side trip. Yung iba naman, natutulog nilang sa hotel kasi nakakapagod din talaga siya. So,
05:57 yung mga bond usually nangyari sa last, kunyari dun sa five days, sa fifth day, magdodinner na
06:03 lahat. And then, syempre segue na to drinks and everything. Pero, kami ni ate Jodi, nakapag food
06:09 tour pa kami before we left Italy. So, last taping day, the next day, may free one day kami. So,
06:17 we grabbed that opportunity to roam around Milan and have a food tour. Tapos, kinagabihan flight
06:24 na namin, going back to Manila. Hindi na ako nakapa-extend 'cause that time, I was still doing
06:29 Urduja. So, we had to go back agad, to go back to taping naman for Urduja. Medyo photo finish pala
06:36 'yon, no? Parang food tour during the morning and then flight na at night? Yes, penosyo talaga
06:40 naman kasi, tabi, sayang naman, nandun na kami. Oo nga. Pero, ang cute naman, no? Nagkaya-yayaan
06:45 kayong dalawa? Actually, kasi kami ni ate Jodi, isa sa mga common things namin, yung mahilig kami
06:52 sa pag-travel. Mahilig kami mag-explore ng food, ng culture, whenever we travel. Yung parang talagang
06:58 gusto namin mag-immerse. So, while we were having this conversation, sabi ni ate Jodi, "Gusto mo mag-food
07:05 tour?" Parang sa kaniyan ang galing. So, ako na super natuwa ako. Kasi, syempre, at first, naihiya ako
07:09 mag-yaya. But when it came from her na, di syempre game ako. And then, on our last day nga, nagbook
07:15 kami ng food guide na local. Tapos, he took us around. So, sobrang ang sayang experience kasi
07:22 syempre we're both foodies. Tapos, we both love to travel. So, ang saya. I'm sure maraming Pinoy din
07:27 doon. Pag nakikita kayong dalawa, parang mapapa-double take sila sa inyong naro. Actually, aware yung
07:34 Filipino community dun na nag-tape kami in Milan. Ang daming Pinoy sa Milan eh. And also yung,
07:40 yung ibang mga production staff na additional na hinayar namin from Milan. They're all Filipinos.
07:47 So, ang laking tulong din nung mga kababayan natin in Italy. Ang cute naman. Oh, wait. So,
07:52 doon sa food tour, ano yung pinaka-masarap na nakain ninyo? Diyos ko, ang dami. Siguro,
07:58 ano ba yung tumatak? Meron kaming isang espresso shot na tinake na sobrang tapang. Tapos, they just
08:05 take it on a regular day. Parang ganun. Na parang para sa atin, sobrang ano siya. Matapang siya.
08:11 Parang yun yung isa sa mga pinaka-memorable namin. Kasi, binividyo namin yung mga sarili namin.
08:16 Then, when we took the shot, parang kaming parehas. Pares kami ng parang, "Hah! Grabe,
08:20 sobrang tapang." Pero yun yung masaya sa food tour eh. Some places you like, some places hindi mo
08:26 mag-get. Diba? So, parang may surprise siya palagi. Oh, so that means gising kayo nung buong flight.
08:33 Nagising. When you say food tour, syempre ang maiisip ko agad is si Kaliel. Because siya
08:38 usually ang kasama mo sa food trip. Diba? Because that's what your YouTube channel,
08:43 your vlog is also about. Eating in front of the car. Na-miss mo ba siya while you were there?
08:48 Oh yeah. Si Kaliel kasi, he hasn't been to Europe. Ako kasi parang, I've been to Europe
08:53 several times for work, for yung mga ganyan. So, every time I go to Europe, I would always tell
08:58 him na, "This screams your personality. I really feel like you like it here." Sana soon, makapag-Europe
09:04 din kaming dalawa. Because I'm pretty sure he'll love it. Especially the food, the culture.
09:09 Oo nga. But diba you've gone on vacation na rin several times? I remember,
09:14 diba you went to the US, tama ba, together? We went to the US for about a month. Pero kasi
09:20 yung kinikip namin yung Europe. It's something to look forward to. In the future, if ever we get
09:26 married or whatever, parang we're really trying to save Europe. We can go naman anytime, come to
09:32 think of it. But parang lawala lang, we have something to look forward to. That's so cute.
09:37 You said, if ever you get married in the future, it's something that you're saving. You know,
09:41 a lot of artists we speak to, they never make references that way to the future. Pero ika,
09:47 you're so comfortable in making that reference. Yeah, I guess. I guess kasi it's just really the
09:52 reality. Parang we can't avoid it. And parang, wala, I'm just being real na diba? What's the
09:59 point of one relationship if that's not what you're aiming for, diba? Since we've been traveling a lot,
10:05 we've been to countries here in Asia, and then nag-US trip na rin kami. We traveled a lot in
10:11 US, nag-road trip kami. We went to Joshua Tree, we went to Palm Springs, inyon. So parang ang deal
10:16 namin, since we've been traveling together as girlfriend-boyfriend, parang we have something
10:22 to look forward to. Let's keep Europe. Para may excitement pa rin. So wala pala talagang balak
10:29 sumunod si Kalil while you were there? Wala, wala. Wait, hold on. And parang the fact that you can
10:35 say it so comfortably, that means you and Kalil, you know, you really discuss it, you talk about
10:40 it. It's not parang something that you don't touch on. Oh no, we're not afraid to talk about it naman.
10:46 But of course, we're not aiming for it anytime soon. Syempre we're still doing a lot of things
10:51 individually, and we have a lot of things to accomplish din in our own lives. But it's
10:57 definitely not a topic that we avoid. Oh, that's nice. It's definitely not a topic that you avoid.
11:02 I'm just surprised that somebody like you is so willing to talk about it with somebody like me,
11:07 who has a microphone. I know, I'm just really open about it. Kasi nagkagulat din ako sa iba.
11:15 Although I respect naman their outlook in life as well, I respect their opinions.
11:21 But ako kasi parang pag tinatanong ako, 'di ba yung other people, kasi they tend to veer away from
11:27 it. Parang, "Ha, ayoko, ayoko. Career muna." Pero ako parang, eh, 'di ko dun tinong upunti.
11:34 Am I gonna lie about it? No. Parang wala lang. I'm just, I guess I'm just being real.
11:42 Oo, kasi that's what you want. Tama ka naman. I mean, when you're in a relationship,
11:45 for most people, that's really the goal, 'di ba? I mean, I don't know, for lack of a better term.
11:49 Not the goal, pero yun yung patutunguhan, the direction in which you're going.
11:52 Yeah, and syempre, some people naman, they don't believe in marriage, or they don't believe in,
11:57 'di ba, in the sacrament of marriage. But in my case, kasi I do believe and I really keep it
12:04 sacred in me. So, ayun, parang yun lang, yun siguro. That's why I'm not afraid to talk about it.
12:10 I remember, Gabby, na-interview ko si Khalil before. This was during pandemic, actually.
12:14 And then he was also telling us about you, about you, about how you met, ganyan. And he was also,
12:20 parang, alam mo yung halatang in love na in love. Pero syempre, not talking about it this way. Maybe
12:25 also you were in a different stage in your relationship at that time. How long have you
12:29 guys been together? We've been together for six years.
12:31 Wow, six years. Oo, siguro, kasi that was maybe three years ago or two years ago.
12:36 And then I remember him saying na parang, the two of you are really just so compatible.
12:41 I guess you can tell, no? It's not necessarily an easy relationship, but it's when you're with
12:46 someone who's easy to be with. It really just works. Kaya tumatagal.
12:49 Yes, that's true. That's true. It's not always easy. Of course, nagka-clash din kami with our
12:56 differences. Especially now we're in our sixth year. We're going seven next year, nung Feb.
13:01 At first, di ba siyempre, nasaya-saya. And then, kap time goes by, you discover a lot of
13:06 differences. Sometimes you can talk about it easily, and sometimes you guys just really clash.
13:13 So siguro, we're in the stage na we just really try to meet in the middle and we compromise.
13:19 Kasi tapos na kami sa mga ano. Nag-aaway talaga kami ng malalabi. Parang tinanggap na lang namin,
13:25 namang kaibang tao lang talaga siguro tayo. And we just have to learn how to work with that.
13:31 Feeling ko kung may pinaga-awayan kayo, yung away nyo. Parang tipo,
13:34 "Hindi eh gusto kong kumain nito." "Hindi eh gusto kong kumain nito."
13:36 Pwede din. Or kaya kapag so ma-... Kasi ano eh, pag-gutom ako, maasa rin ako eh. Yung
13:43 maingit ulo ko. Siguro yun.
13:46 Ah, nagiging hungry ka pala.
13:48 Oo, hungry ako. Especially kapag in the morning, lalo na pag-ipa nagla-lunch, mga ganyan. Hungry
13:54 ako. Yung mga ganun. Tapos yung iba, siyempre, yung mga things that we can't control anymore,
14:01 kung pano values na namin minsan, pano kami pinalaki. So parang alam mo yun.
14:06 It's nice din siguro na may ganun para you can learn from each other. Kasi diba,
14:10 pagkasobrang magkaparesta, magkaparesta man kayo. Ano na. You learn from each other.
14:16 Pero I'm trying to remember, Gabbie, kung kilan kayo first nag-public with your relationship?
14:23 Siguro that was around 2018 or '19. Somewhere between '18 or '19. We were together 2017.
14:31 But we kept quiet muna. Kasi we were testing the waters and we really didn't want to parang
14:38 yung go public agad na hindi pa naman namin, yung hindi pa naman siya sobrang made, alam mo yun.
14:45 By that time, parang I was still doing shows with a love team. So parang ayaw muna namin ng ingay.
14:52 We wanna keep it to ourselves muna. And then come 2018 or 2019, we had a film together. So parang
15:01 slowly medyo lumabas na siya. Tas nasa spot-spot na rin kami. So parang, eh yun na nga. Kaming
15:06 dalawa kasi we're in showbiz but when it comes to our relationship, parang ayaw namin siya masyadong
15:12 ishowbiz. Alam mo yun. Yung parang pag na-spot kami, hindi kami yung parang magdedenyay,
15:16 magdedenyay. Parang, yeah, magkasama kami. Okay. Actually, parang yun nga yung best strategy,
15:21 no? Kapag may nagsabi. Kaya yun eh. Syempre kung tumanggi ka, parang lalo nilang uuong ka
15:26 din. Pero pag sabi mo, "Oo, kami na. O di, tapos na." Yeah. So parang that time, parang whenever
15:30 people would ask me, "Oh, show na spot kayo ni Carlos?" I go, "Yeah, we go out." Tapos na.
15:36 Very good. Oo, very matter of fact. Walang deny-deny. Yeah, 'cause I don't see the point in...
15:44 Iban progressive din kasi yung mga tao ngayon eh. I mean, I believe kasi the before. Parang,
15:49 di ba pag sinasabi nila na, "Bata ka pa. Career muna. Huwag ka mag-love life. Nakakasira
15:53 ng career 'yan." Whatever. But it's not always the same for everybody. Like for me,
15:58 mas nakafocus nga ako eh, actually. Mas nakatulong, mas nagfocus ako. When it comes to my personal
16:05 life, mas naging mentally stable ako. Alam mo 'yon? Emotionally stable. I guess it's not the
16:10 same for everybody. Sa akin, mas nag-boost pa siya. And mas naging maayos pa akong tao, actually.
16:17 Correct, 'no? Whatever talaga works for you. Yeah, yeah. Whatever works for you. And for some
16:23 siguro it's more of a distraction, which I understand. But 'yon na nga. Siguro our relationship
16:29 is just really healthy. That's why. I guess it means also you're with the right person. 'Cause
16:32 if you're with the wrong person, it'll be a toxic relationship. Yeah. Siguro I'm just really blessed
16:38 and I'm one of the lucky few na I'm with the right person. Wait. When was the last time you
16:46 and Khalil worked together on a project? You had a show together for public affairs. Yes. That was
16:51 the last one na. That was a year ago. More than a year ago na. Ah, more than a year ago na. But
16:56 when you first met Khalil, it wasn't because you were working together. You met through common
17:00 friends, 'di ba? Yes, yes. We did. We met through common friends sa isang debut. Debut of Julia
17:06 Barreto. Julia's my classmate. And then si Khalil and Julia, they worked a lot together before.
17:11 So parang that time, bagong-bago pa ako sa showbiz. That was 2015, I think? 2015.
17:21 So I was about a year old pa lang in showbiz. So nobody knew me. I was just starting. And then I
17:28 was there as Julia's classmate, not as an artista. So parang I was with the non-showbiz people that
17:34 time. Dun. Dun kami nagkakilala na. And then after that, 'cause we were nagkausap kami for about a
17:39 month, we just really clicked. Pero nagka-stop na rin. Parang hindi na rin kami natuloy. Parang
17:45 naging friends lang kami. And then after that, after two years, nagka-reconnection kaming dala.
17:50 And then yun na. Two years pa pala. Wait, yung reconnection niya was because you were
17:54 working together na on a movie? No, no. He was still with ABS back then.
17:58 We reconnected because of his film, actually. Parang I was looking for tickets for his film. It
18:06 was a Cinema One original film. So parang festival siya. And it was, parang the tickets were limited.
18:13 But then that time, 'cause I was really into movies, I wanted to explore as an actor. I wanted
18:18 to watch films. Ang gaganda ng lineup noong time na 'yon for C1 Originals. So I was looking for a
18:25 ticket. I was looking for a ticket. And then my friend told me, "E, tipa, nakausap mo dati si
18:29 Kalel. Why don't you ask him?" So ako parang, "Ah, oo nga, no." So tinext ko siya directly na
18:34 parang, "Hi! I hope you still remember me." Blah, blah. I was just wondering, "I really wanna watch
18:39 your film. I'm looking for tickets. NCCP, blah, blah." Parang ganyan-ganyan pa. And then he answered
18:44 na parang, "Oh yes, of course, I remember you. Yeah, I'll send you tickets." Sabi niya. Tapos,
18:49 "Kumusta na?" Gumana na siya, "How are you?" And then from that day on 'til ngayon, we never
18:53 stopped talking. Wow! Cute ka ba? Shocks parang ako yung kilikilig. I love mga ano eh. I love
18:59 love stories. Yeah. Tata parang it was really an unexpected one talaga. Hindi siya yung romantic na
19:07 parang nagka-inlovean ko may or nagkatinginan ko. Hindi siya ganun eh. It's more of like,
19:13 we just never stopped talking. That's it. Nag-develop nila. I love yung you never
19:17 stop talking. Aw, cute! Wait, wait lang, wait lang. I'm curious also kasi, wait, di ba you,
19:23 so you started your relationship, never pa kayo nagkatrabaho together. Was it hard when parang
19:29 kayo na tapos nagdatrabaho kayo together? Kasi di ba sometimes, I mean ako, I used to work with my
19:34 husband. That's how we met. Pero nung nag-asawa na kami, ayoko na siyang katrabaho. Atleast.

20:33 Ah, you know, it's funny. Kasi nung naging kami, parang we never imagined ourselves to work together.
20:39 Kasi number one, he's from ABS, I'm from GMA. At that time, di ba sobrang parang talagang
20:44 imposibling magkatrabaho kayo. Magkaibang network kayo. So, kami, oh sige, deal na lang tayo na we're
20:51 never gonna work together. Kasi ang weird kami. Kasi di ba usually, love team muna,
20:56 natin nakaka-developan and then maging kayo. Kasi kami parang, parang ambaduy. Parang ayon namin ng ganon.
21:03 I was, biglang cut to a film was offered to us for Pista ng Pilipulang Pilipino. It's for a festival
21:11 and it was with Ben & Ben. We were both fans of Ben & Ben that time. Parang hindi pa sobrang sikat
21:16 ng Ben & Ben. We listened to them na. 'Cause si Paolo and Miguel, they were my churchmates.
21:21 We listened to them na even before. Kasi in-offer samin yung project na yun. Paano kami naku?
21:25 Paano ba 'to? Eh, ang ganda ng material. Tapos eh, ang gusto tayong dalawa. So, paano ba 'to?
21:32 Ganyan kami. And then, 'yon. So, nagka-work na kami together because of that film. And then, at first,
21:39 it was really weird. Kasi parang the role was, we were strangers dun sa film. And then, siyempre,
21:45 we were so comfortable na together, di ba? So, parang, paano ba 'to? Ang hirap umarte kasama
21:50 'tong taong 'to. Ganyan. Pero, in the long run, alam mo, mas na-appreciate ko siya acting with
21:56 Khalil 'cause Khalil is such a good actor. He's, as in, like, I really admire his work. Not, like,
22:02 I'm not being biased. Even before then, he's a character actor, eh. And he's done a lot of
22:07 indie films. Like, you really can learn from him as an actor. Parang si Khalil din yung nag-pave

23:47 especially here na Unbreak, my heart, this is my most mature role yet. And then, Khalil has always
23:53 been doing mature roles. Parang, nagkaroon na kami ng understanding, ng mutual understanding,
24:00 na it's our work. We respect each other's workplace. We respect each other's process when it comes to
