00:00 The Super Falcons of Nigeria reached the end of the road in the FIFA Women's World Cup
00:04 with the last 16 match set to go down on Monday against England.
00:08 And that's a question on everyone's lips.
00:10 As we preview the game for you right here, my name is Ayomede Shutubo and this is The
00:15 Nutmeg on Guardian TV.
00:17 First off, we have to give the Super Falcons credit.
00:25 Nobody thought they would advance beyond the group phase but they have already.
00:32 And they are unbeaten.
00:33 In fact, Randy Waldron is the first coach to lead the women's team into the last 16
00:40 out of the group phase in a World Cup without a defeat.
00:42 But anyways, England is up next and we faced them once in the Women's World Cup and that
00:47 was back in 1995.
00:49 That ended in defeat for the Super Falcons.
00:52 England won 3-2 on the day and also looking at what has happened in the World Cup this
00:58 year, England have been classy.
01:01 They've torn teams apart.
01:03 They've not just beaten teams but they've torn teams apart.
01:06 They have three wins in three.
01:08 Nigeria meanwhile has a win and two draws and they scored just three goals in the tournament
01:15 too as well.
01:16 But England, they've been scoring, they've been plundering goals right, left, front and
01:20 centre.
01:21 It's not difficult to predict the player to watch for England.
01:24 That's Lauren James and she was sensational in their last game and she will be again.
01:30 They're a team full of stars and they're not just a team full of stars, they're a
01:34 cohesive unit.
01:35 It will be a tough one to get behind this England team but I feel that perhaps the Super
01:42 Falcons can maybe just pull up a miracle, maybe perhaps defeat England.
01:49 I'm probably asking for too much but I hope my patriotism will pay dividends and I'll
01:56 come back in the next episode telling you that the Super Falcons did win against England
02:01 but I think England, if I'm being realistic, will win because they're favourites not
02:05 just to win the match but also to win the tournament.
02:08 But we wish the Super Falcons good luck in that game and of course we'll still be here
02:13 right here on Guardian Nigeria to tell you everything concerning the Super Falcons.
02:18 Should they advance?
02:19 And also there is South Africa who have confirmed their place in the last 16 as well.
02:23 That's an African team to watch by the way and of course we'll be bringing all of that
02:28 to you.
