00:00 On Thursday, in the U.S. West Coast, the actors' union SAG-AFTRA announced the resumption of
00:05 negotiations between the screenwriters and the Hollywood Studios after almost 100 days
00:12 since the start of the strike.
00:14 The union reported the Hollywood Studios had resumed contact and asked for a meeting on
00:18 Friday.
00:19 It should be noted that the screenwriters' guild of United States had walked out of the
00:23 talks on May 2 amid arguments over pay.
00:27 The actors' union confirmed the hiring of fewer writers for television shows and for
00:32 a shorter length of time, plus the studios' refusal to state in writing that their jobs
00:37 are protected from being replaced by artificial intelligence, are the main points of disagreement.
00:43 As well as employers argue that the causes of the labor conflict have to do with cost
00:47 cutting due to the economic pressures.
