00:00 Welcome back to another episode of Getting the Upper Land where we take a look at what's
00:13 making news this week. I'm your livestock editor Rebecca Naj. And I'm Senior Journalist
00:18 Dennis Howe. And we're coming to you from the Cootah Park Bluey Beef Production Field
00:23 Day here in Woodstock. Dennis, so you've joined me in wearing an appropriate hat, finally.
00:28 Yeah, I had to, Bec, to cover up all the patches of hair I'd pulled out from working with you
00:32 for the last month. I think they call that old age, buddy. Making news this week, of
00:37 course, is the cracking sale result by Texas Angus. They've broken the All Breeds Bull
00:42 record for their $360,000 sale last week. Yeah, it was a great result for Ben and Wendy
00:48 and the entire Maine family. And Simon Chamberlain was on hand to record the historic day. Also
00:54 in livestock, keep an eye out for photos from Southern Beef Week. And we've also got a
00:58 story on the DPI researchers. They're looking into lamb survival and they're calling on
01:03 producers to get involved. Interesting stuff, Bec. In other news, I look at a big bank closing
01:09 its branches at Warren, Gilgandra and Wellington. And that's despite making massive profits
01:13 last year and going very well again this year. It is a shame when small communities lose
01:18 their vital services. Another story we've got, it's a great read by Helen DaCosta. It's
01:24 from the Wagga Sale Yards. Yeah, it takes a look at the issues faced by workers at the
01:28 sale yards who have likened conditions to a pigsty. Also on the land website, we've
01:34 got episode one of the Ag Tech Revolution. That takes a look at how farmers have gone
01:39 from carrying the notebook in the top pocket to recording more data than ever before. And
01:43 you can jump online to check that out. Yep. The land's available at all good news agencies

01:56 And we'll see you next week. See you next week.
