00:00 Elgin City debut today and a 2-0 win and a goal, you must be delighted?
00:04 Oh absolutely delighted honestly. First to get a win and two to get a goal and play pretty decent.
00:09 So no I'm chuffed a bit and especially to get the win as I say. But no I'm chuffed, I'm definitely chuffed.
00:15 You grabbed that number nine jersey and obviously the move's pretty fresh, any player making a
00:19 debut is always wanting to get on target. You had one wee chance in the first half which the goalie
00:23 saved but you got there in the end. Yeah I was gathered the first five minutes in my head, I was
00:27 kicking myself but no I was delighted to get the goal at the end and nod it in. But as I say yeah
00:32 just get your goals and just move on from there and help the team out as well as much as possible.
00:36 The press and running and holding it up up front, that's mainly what you're number nine want to do.
00:40 So no I'm chuffed with the debut but obviously that's just a start and we'll look to Saturday
00:45 the league starting so no I'm looking forward to it definitely. It's a step up for you of course
00:49 from Highland League and you weren't your regular scorer for Forest Mechanics. Are you confident
00:53 you can get goals at Scottish League level? Definitely yeah, no you can tell it's a huge
00:57 step up but that's what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the challenge, the next step up.
01:01 So no I'm delighted and with the Highland League it's a great league and I was scoring that so I
01:05 felt I could take the chance to go up and hopefully well after today is keep scoring
01:11 and I believe I can and just keep doing it in League Two. Tell me more about your time at Forest
01:16 obviously you know and their role and getting you to where you are just now and their manager
01:20 Stephen McDonald has played a big part. Yeah honestly a huge thanks to Forest itself, Stephen
01:24 the manager and everyone involved. They didn't hold me back in the slightest, there was no bad
01:30 feelings or hard feelings when they let me go to Elgin. It was all just wanting the best for me
01:35 and they've always done that since I've left. I was at Cali previous and they were wanting to
01:39 get me back to full-time and they didn't put any barriers in that way so no everything Forest
01:46 done was honest, it was brilliant everything they've done so no they're a great club that's
01:51 all I can say really to none of us. And it's a young Elgin team that you've joined as well you
01:55 know there were seven teenagers on the pitch at one time today including yourself but it's a team
01:59 that can develop and grow together. Exactly that I feel when you've got young boys obviously you're
02:04 good, energetic and you're obviously down the wings everything like that is great but you've
02:10 also got your experienced boys mixed through that as well as you've seen Rusty came on there and
02:14 made a great impact as well so you've got a mixture of everything and I feel Drapes is
02:18 building something great here and hopefully we just continue that for the rest of the season.
02:22 And Rusty come on and put that ball right on your head there and it was one of those chances that
02:27 you like getting in front of goal and you picked it away nicely. Yeah I've seen his left his head
02:32 so I started peeling off the back post and just headed it back where it came from so the keeper
02:36 is there no chance of that so now I'm chuffed to bits with a wee goal there as well so just put the
02:40 cherry on top. Exactly and the real action of course starts on Saturday with the first league
02:44 match against Ginnarar and that's the games that really count isn't it? Exactly that yeah yeah
02:48 tonight was great to be involved but realistically the real match is Saturday to get three points
02:53 and just get off to a great start I'm sure the fans and everyone here would be delighted to get
02:57 three points so just start on that and move on from that. A scoring debut in the cup is good,
03:02 a scoring debut in league two would be very nice. It'd be better exactly that so I'll aim to do the
03:06 same home again so hopefully see more fans down but no I'm delighted I'll be looking forward to it
03:12 as well just recover and get ready for Saturday now.
