00:34 Every citizen is entitled under Article 21 of the Constitution to sleep peacefully with
00:41 no disturbance.
00:42 The right to sleep has been recognized as a fundamental right under Right to Life and
00:48 Personal Library under Article 21.
00:52 According to Article 21 of the Constitution, it says, "No person shall be deprived of
00:59 his life or personal liberty except according to the procedure established by the law."

01:20 The High Court said, "Sleep is essential for a human being to maintain the delicate

01:31 Sleep is, therefore, a fundamental and basic requirement without which the existence of

01:40 The Supreme Court said while stating sleep as a basic human right, according to a report
01:46 by Times of India, in Saeed Maqsood Ali Vs. State of Madhya Pradesh, the Madhya Pradesh
01:53 High Court said, "Every citizen is entitled under Article 21 of the Constitution to live
02:00 in a decent environment and has the right to sleep peacefully at night."

02:34 No one has the right to affect the rights of others to have proper sleep, a peaceful
02:40 living atmosphere, and undisturbed thought.
02:43 The High Court said, "No citizen can be compelled to suffer annoying effects of noises
02:50 as it eventually leads to many a man-lady, which includes cardiovascular disturbance,
02:56 digestive disorders, and neuropsychiatric disturbance."
