We asked the people of Sheffield do you find it hard to book a GP appointment?
Transcript
00:00 here asking people if they're having difficulty making GP appointments right
00:03 now. Any thoughts on that? I definitely think it's quite hard especially because it's like a lot of things are online and I know that like my
00:11 gran finds it really difficult to book one when she has to like go on the
00:14 computer figure out what website, book them in, is always calling my mum about it and I definitely think as well if you don't have that access you can't really book them over the phone that easily anymore
00:26 they're always full, they're always busy. Some people find it difficult to want to make a GP appointment or be put off looking after things because there's this barrier you have to overcome. Does that ever cross your mind at all? Yeah definitely.
00:40 Especially if you think you've not got that big of an issue or you're just a bit fed up of going to the doctors you don't want to make that effort even if it's far away as well like my local doctors isn't that close to me it's not easily walkable.
00:55 I feel like I find that it's very, you feel like you'll be more problematic trying to go than actually they're helping your problem. Does that make sense?
01:09 Yeah it's something I've experienced a lot of. I've tried to get a GP appointment recently although it wasn't in Sheffield and getting through to someone was like trying to book tickets for Glastonbury. It's just impossible.
01:27 It's a traffic jam in the morning calling up that line. Yeah basically yeah it felt like a lottery so yeah it very much feels like the NHS is on its knees.
01:36 Would that put you off calling in the first place for example? Absolutely. Has it added a balance to it? Yeah.
