00:02 Get out of town!
00:03 Oh my God, you're going to the Barbie movie!
00:06 It was a surprise with a reaction that was priceless.
00:10 Robert Foster became the husband of the year
00:12 after planning this epic evening for his wife, Diane,
00:16 and 25 of their friends to see the Barbie movie
00:19 where they live in Nebraska.
00:20 He rented out the whole theater.
00:22 Wow, my dad and I are just so blown away
00:25 by how many people are so excited
00:27 about the surprise he has planned for my mother
00:29 and her friends.
00:30 The couple's daughter, Mary, helped with the idea.
00:33 His first idea was that him and several of his friends
00:37 go out to dinner together and tell all their wives
00:39 that they're actually gonna go see Oppenheimer
00:42 and make kind of a big deal about how excited they are
00:44 for this movie, and then when they actually get
00:46 to the theater, surprise them and take them
00:47 to Barbie instead.
00:49 I thought this was hilarious, but almost immediately,
00:52 he thought of a bigger and better idea.
00:55 I suggested he rent out a theater.
00:56 Fast forward to today, he calls me,
00:59 he told me he booked a theater.
01:00 Then the father and daughter duo took it even further
01:03 and planned a huge party with favors
01:05 and a backdrop for photo ops.
01:08 I'm well aware that this has gotten a bit out of hand,
01:11 but I think everybody, along with myself,
01:14 has just gotten caught up in the excitement
01:15 that is the Barbie movie, as well as encouraging my dad
01:19 and his friends with the surprise party they have planned.
01:21 The backstory to get everyone to the surprise
01:23 was to say it was a fundraiser for breast cancer research,
01:27 and since the color for breast cancer awareness is pink,
01:30 it worked.
01:31 But I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea.
01:33 Breast cancer is something that runs in my family,
01:35 and this organization means the world to my mother and I.
01:38 We have done stuff multiple times now with them in the past,
01:41 and so this genuinely is now a real fundraiser.
01:44 Oh my God, it's one of the Barbie movies!
01:46 (screaming)
01:47 And since the surprise became a fundraiser,
01:49 they raised $5,000
01:51 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
01:54 Power of Barbie.
01:56 I'm Leigh Scheps for Inside Edition Digital.
01:58 (upbeat music)
02:01 you
