00:03 the Health Department and Budget Department are now arranging

00:07 the allowance for health workers who served during the COVID restrictions.

00:13 But some groups still lacked in talking about the benefits.

00:27 we will now distribute their COVID health emergency allowance

00:32 and other benefits.

00:34 Some health workers are hoping that the government will still fulfill

00:41 the promise of President Bongbong Marcos at the State of the Nation address yesterday.

00:46 But the President did not touch on the main problems of health care workers

00:51 who, as long as the solution is not given, will continue to push health care workers abroad.

00:57 Our priority is to call for a solution to raise the living wage

01:04 and at the same time, to avoid understaffing and contractualization of health workers.

01:10 The President said that despite the efforts of doctors and nurses,

01:15 he is confident in their ability.

01:17 There are no concrete steps to solve these issues.

01:24 Maybe it's better if the legislation of raising wages is included in the priority bills.

01:33 And even if additional public health facilities are being built,

01:36 it is still a problem if health workers are not enough.

01:39 Work conditions are not fair and not humane.

01:43 How do you expect to have quality health care?

01:47 According to Health Secretary Ted Herbosa,

01:49 they are already talking to the Department of Budget and Management

01:53 to fix the issue of health emergency allowance

01:56 and the lack of health workers in the President's area.

02:00 It's hard to satisfy everyone.

02:02 But I think if you look at it from a systems perspective,

02:05 the President actually covered a lot of this.

02:08 I think it's not time to be negative.

02:10 We are trying to develop and be positive.

02:13 After lifting the public health emergency,

02:16 the COVID surveillance and vaccination program will continue,

02:20 according to the DOH, which is also recommended by the World Health Organization.
