00:00 We're moving on to some of the latest transfer activity over the past week or so. Hearts
00:11 gents have finally made their first signing. They brought in Australian midfielder Caelan
00:15 Nuenhof. I'm guessing a lot of supporters will be feeling quite relieved at this stage
00:21 that they finally managed to get a player in the door given that all the other clubs
00:25 have been strengthening.
00:26 They probably are. Obviously it was a bit of a blow to lose a big Greek boy they had
00:33 in midfield last season. Orestes, I won't even attempt his surname, but he played a
00:39 number of games for Hearts this season. They kind of look a wee bit like a team in limbo
00:46 Lewis but they're not in that settled position that we'd seen from Hearts sides in previous
00:51 seasons. Even coming up from the Championship into the Premiership under Robbie Nielsen,
00:55 I think you always can afford a good collective side. They've obviously lost experience in
01:00 a guy like Michael Smith leaving the club. They're entering what you could say is a new
01:05 era here. Again, they'll be hoping to bring a lot more players in the door to try and
01:10 boost their chances, especially with Aberdeen now being a competitor in there. Hubs will
01:16 look to be one of those sides in and about it again this season. I think Jambos fans
01:21 will be happy that they've eventually made their first signing. Obviously the profile
01:25 of the player looks quite good coming over from Australia. That's been something that's
01:27 worked for Hearts in recent seasons. Obviously other Premiership clubs will be hoping that
01:32 there's more to follow I think Lewis.
01:34 Looking at Derek McInnes' revival at Kilmarnock, obviously a surviving relegation last season.
01:44 They'll be hoping for a much improved campaign this time around. They've also added two new
01:49 players this week, Marley Watkins from Aberdeen and Lewis Mayo on a permanent deal from Rangers.
01:55 Ben, what would you make of those two signings? Do you feel Kilmarnock are certainly in a
02:00 stronger position heading into the start of the new season than they were this time last
02:05 year?
02:06 I think you can see all the signings so far have been very Derek McInnes of Tennant McInnes
02:11 actually. You can see he's going to try and mould his own squad this time around. Whereas
02:16 last year it seemed like it was a case of just picking up the players you can. Certainly
02:22 I think they'll try and have aspirations of going for that top six. Whether they get there
02:27 or not I'm not quite sure. I think it's one of them. You can always tell how a club's
02:32 doing off the park rather than on it. You see the things coming out of Killow right
02:36 now are all very positive. Obviously they brought out that review of football and business
02:42 which went through everything the club had done over the past year or so. You can see
02:46 there's a real direction there at Kilmarnock now. Some of the figures are quite astounding
02:51 in terms of monetary value, in terms of what they've managed to do with revenue off the
02:55 pitch. Obviously on it that's made a massive impact because they've certainly made some
03:00 signings that I don't think many people would imagine they could have. I think Kilmarnock
03:05 see herself as a club in an upward trajectory which is a thing that probably a lot of top
03:10 flight clubs can't see at the moment. I think they'll go into the season thinking they can
03:14 maybe cause an upset or a few.
