Nora et Hae Sung, deux amis d’enfance inséparables, sont arrachés l’un à l’autre lorsque la famille de Nora émigre de la Corée du Sud vers le Canada. Douze ans plus tard, Nora étudie à New York et internet permet aux deux anciens amis de reprendre contact. Ils espèrent pouvoir se revoir mais la distance finit par les éloigner à nouveau. Après une nouvelle période de douze ans, Nora est désormais mariée lorsqu’elle retrouve enfin son amour de jeunesse. Il est venu lui rendre visite à New York lors d’une semaine décisive.
