Margaritaville

A light hearted look at Patrick Treacy's time in Miami, Florida made by a fellow Dailymotioner. The video hangs its Floridian graphics to the words of Jimmy Buffet's iconic Margaritaville. It is apparent that although the author and subject share some similarities of memory, we should remember Buffet's Key West of the early 70's was much different than Treacy's Miami of the nineties and the new century. Smugglers, servicemen, and shrimpers populated the island that had a reputation for harboring those seeking a lifestyle somewhat to the left of norm. This was the cultural "melting pot" that caused the subject to travel and inspired Buffett to write his songs. Someone once said "Every outlaw has a good story, and Buffett has an eye and ear for them."
