00:00 Back at 4 Down Tower in Port Slade, this time in the sunshine so that's a good start.
00:05 And I'm going to do the next part of the Brighton Clove Way, making my way towards Brighton Pier.
00:11 If you walk just down from the tower you'll see this path diagonally across the field
00:17 and that's where you need to head with Southwick Power Station in the distance in that direction.
00:24 We've followed in the same direction roughly through a network of paths and a bridleway
00:30 that's brought us down to Drove Road where you can see Emmaus ahead of us and we're going to
00:36 walk around that now. So you basically follow the path around the outside of the Emmaus building
00:43 and into this churchyard here and then we're going to carry on our way to East Hill Park.
00:50 We've now walked completely around Emmaus and we've arrived at East Hill Park. From this map
00:56 you can see what we're going to do is we're going to walk around East Hill House, follow the path
01:00 down and then exit down Park Close. If you're looking for a place of peace and somewhere
01:06 perhaps have a cup of coffee this is a lovely little walled garden in the park. We've come
01:14 out of the park, turned left along Highland Road and now we've just turned right and you can see
01:20 the wind farm and the sea ahead of you. We're working our way down to the sea. After you've
01:24 gone through Southern Cross Recreation Ground you turn left to go past Portslade Town Hall
01:30 and then you turn right at Riverdale and you come through a passageway that brings you down here to
01:35 this tunnel underneath the railway line. After the tunnel if you just cross the road and carry on in
01:42 the same direction head towards the Tesco car park you'll see there's a passageway running
01:46 alongside it and that's where you need to head up. I came out at the busy Boundary Road where
01:52 there's lots of shops, pubs, cafes, plenty if you fancy a stop off and now you cross Boundary Road,
02:00 carry on down New Church Road and you pass by St Leonard's Church here and carry on to turn right
02:07 in a moment. You keep going until you reach Saxon Road and you turn down here and then left into
02:13 Aldrington Recreation Ground and then follow the line parallel to New Church Road. Aldrington
02:20 Recreation Ground has a lovely park for the children to play in and it had a cafe. After
02:26 exiting that if you turn right down Wish Road it brings you down to Hove Lagoon and then on to the
02:31 seafront and now it's basically a case of following the seafront to Brighton Pier.
02:35 Made it to the pier and that's the end of this section of the walk.
02:40 If you keep on the lower section walking along here there's so much to see and enjoy
02:45 and now you can just take a break get an ice cream maybe and just enjoy the pier.
