00:00 We are determined to continue the strike as long as we don't get a cause for our two claims,
00:06 which are the cancellation of Geoffroy Lejeune's nomination
00:10 and guarantees to preserve the editorial independence of the editorial.
00:25 The JDD has been embodying republican values for 75 years
00:30 and it's not a newspaper of opinions.
00:34 We have always defended that, we have always made sure that there is a plurality of ideas and opinions
00:38 that are expressed in our pages, a plurality of topics that are covered.
00:42 And it's true that in his career, in his ideas, in what he defends,
00:46 Geoffroy Lejeune proves that he doesn't do the same journalism as us.
00:50 He himself said that he was defending a strategy of ideological conquest.
00:53 These are the words he used in an interview.
00:55 So it proves that we can't work under the orders of Mr Lejeune.
01:00 I think it's important that the elected representatives take this issue into account
01:04 to defend the JDD fight, but also the fight of the press.
01:08 The fight we are fighting can concern all the editorial offices in France.
01:21 It's a very simple situation that conditions the access to the press' aid,
01:25 that the state gives, to a right of journalists' approval.
01:29 That is, that journalists can validate the proposals of an editorial director.
01:35 According to what criteria?
01:37 According to the fact that this person can respect the deontology of journalists,
01:41 can respect their journalistic honesty, can simply respect their work.
01:46 We already know what happened at ITL, which became CNews.
01:50 We know what happened in Europe.
01:52 In the end, we kindly asked the journalists in place to leave
01:58 to be replaced by online journalists with an editorial line
02:02 which, by the way, is not independent of the shareholders who own these newspapers.
02:07 That's what we've already seen.
02:09 We can't say that we don't know, we can't say that there's no problem.
02:12 We know very well what Mr Bolloré's will is.
02:15 It's a strategy to get involved in the media and participate in public debates
02:22 in the service of a cause.
02:25 And that's not what the media is, that's not what information is.
02:28 That's why information is not a good thing like anything else.
