00:00 The Filipino Deaf athletes have proven their worth in the two International Table Tennis Championships.

00:07 Their story is about how Oscar Oida played.

00:11 After the pandemic, the Deaf National Table Tennis Team is doing well in the two international competitions in Taipei, Taiwan.

00:27 Edwin Advincula, Timothy Cua, Cale Brent Chavez and Julius Esposo are in the bronze men's team category of the 4th World Deaf Table Tennis Championships.

00:37 According to Julius, his hearing problem got worse but it was not a reason to give up the sport that he loves.

00:46 We should not look at our negative aspects.

00:52 We should look and embrace our strength. Every person has their own strength.

01:03 Esposo also won a bronze medal in the mixed doubles category of the 4th World Deaf Table Tennis Championships with Abinuevo.

01:13 While Chavez, who is 17 years old, won the first medal in the World Deaf Youth Table Tennis Championships in the boys singles event category.

01:25 At first, I really didn't want to join the Deaf team because I was shy.

01:29 Then, I told my mom, "Why?"

01:33 I didn't expect to be Deaf.

01:36 Although he didn't expect to be deaf.

01:40 I was shocked that my hearing was gone when the ball was hit.

01:45 But my ball feel increased.

01:48 The Philippine Sports Federation needs continuous support for the Deaf so that more competitions can be held.

01:56 Support is a big factor, especially the Deaf team.

02:08 We are looking for support and solicitation.
