Wales headlines 5 July: Minister admits covid mistakes

First Minister Mark Drakeford and former health minister Vaughn Gethin have admitted failings at public enquiry into Welsh covid 19 plans. Mr Gethin said the government were not as prepared as they should have been, which led to additional pain for families who’d lost loves ones during the pandemic.

The family of a burglary victim are appealing for the return of a wedding ring of significant sentimental value. The ring, along with other jewellery, a Rolex, and a safe were stolen from a property in Dros y Mor in Penarth, and the family are asking whoever has the inscribed ring to show some compassion and return the ring however they can.

Hannah Dingley has made history by becoming the first woman to be appointed manager of a professional side anywhere in the UK as she takes charge of English league 2 side Forest Green Rovers. The 39 year old, who was born and raised in Carmarthenshire says it’s an exciting time in football.
