01:48 [CHATTER]
01:51 [LAUGHTER]
02:02 Can I pull it out?
02:06 Yeah.
02:07 Oh my god.
02:08 It's a card.
02:10 That's awesome.
02:11 That's crazy.
02:14 Wow.
02:15 That was impressive.
02:17 That was so cool.
02:18 Good job.
02:19 Thank you.
02:20 Thanks for having me.
02:21 You have a fun day.
02:22 [MUSIC PLAYING]
02:25 Spiracy is a great effect that uses a utility device.
02:34 It's actually a gimmick you construct,
02:35 and you can carry it with you and perform on a moment's notice.
02:40 It looks something like this.
02:43 This is what the spectator sees.
02:44 This is what anybody sees, really, is a deck of cards.
02:49 What they don't see is that on this deck of cards,
02:52 you actually have the gimmick.
02:54 And it looks like this.
02:56 The gimmick is a false face of the deck.
03:01 You can see on this face, there's actually a sleeve.
03:04 Now, on the back of this is just a joker.
03:10 On this joker, there's some double stick tape.
03:13 And on the inside of this gimmick,
03:15 there's some metal shim so a magnet can steal this away.
03:18 Now, this double stick tape actually helps the gimmick
03:22 stick right to the box.
03:25 Once the gimmick is on the box, this
03:26 can now go into your pocket, and you can just pull out.
03:29 And even if you don't want to use the trick right away,
03:32 you can just go into whatever regular card routine you have
03:36 and always have the gimmick on standby.
03:40 So that's a little bit about the gimmick,
03:41 and let's get right into the construction of this gimmick.
03:45 OK, so what you are going to need to construct a gimmick--
03:49 and keep in mind, it sounds like a lot,
03:50 but once it's constructed, it'll last you a lot of time.
03:53 So you only got to do this once, in a sense.
03:56 What you will need is a pair of scissors,
04:01 some cellophane from a card box, a face off the card box--
04:10 just the face-- a joker, some kind of metal shim.
04:20 And if you cannot find any metal shim,
04:21 you can always use a razor blade.
04:23 But be safe if this is the way you're going to go.
04:26 Be careful not to cut yourself.
04:29 But I prefer just a metal shim and some double stick tape.
04:34 That's it.
04:34 That's all you need to construct a gimmick.
04:38 Let's get right into the first step.
04:40 OK, so the first step in the construction process
04:43 is simply this.
04:45 You're going to take the face.
04:48 You're going to just flip this over.
04:52 You're going to grab a piece of double stick tape.
04:54 You're also going to grab the joker.
05:00 On the back of this joker, you're
05:01 going to put the piece of double stick tape in the center,
05:04 as centered as possible.
05:07 Now what you're going to do is you're
05:09 going to have to line these cards up so you can cut
05:12 and so they fit pretty flush with each other.
05:16 What you need to do is line this up as center
05:18 as possible with the face.
05:21 So just like this, you can see on this side, I got the joker.
05:29 Over here, I got the face.
05:32 Now what I need to do is trim off all of this excess,
05:38 all the way around.
05:40 You see all the excess card.
05:43 So let's do that now.
05:44 It doesn't got to be perfect, because they never actually
05:58 examine your gimmick.
06:01 So just make it eye candy, if you will.
06:05 So just like this.
06:09 Like I said, it doesn't have to be perfect.
06:11 So once you get that, you're ready for the next step.
06:19 So once you've done that, step two in the gimmick process
06:23 is this.
06:24 You're going to peel these apart again.
06:26 You're just going to set the joker aside.
06:29 Now what you're going to want to do is take the cellophane,
06:34 and you're going to cut the cellophane piece in half
06:38 from here all the way down the middle,
06:42 here all the way down the middle,
06:44 and over here all the way down the middle.
06:47 So the cellophane piece gets cut right in two.
06:50 [CELLOPHANE PIECES BEING CUT]
06:54 Now you just get rid of one of the pieces.
07:16 You don't need it.
07:18 You're going to take one of the pieces.
07:20 You're going to trim this angle right here.
07:25 These two pieces meet, and trim that.
07:27 So now you've got a flat here and a flat here.
07:30 You're going to do the same thing in this corner.
07:33 Just going to trim that corner angle.
07:36 OK, so once you have the corners clipped,
07:39 and you get these three flaps now,
07:42 you're ready for the next step.
07:44 You're just going to set this aside.
07:46 You're going to grab that face again, flip it over,
07:50 and you're going to put a piece of double stick tape
07:52 along this edge, the bottom edge, and this edge.
07:56 So the left and right edge, and the bottom edge.
07:58 And it looks something like this.
08:00 Grab one piece, and get it as flush as possible
08:10 to the left edge.
08:11 The bottom, and with the right.
08:21 Now what you're going to do is grab that clear piece again.
08:37 You're going to put it right on the face.
08:39 As tight as possible, as flush as possible.
08:42 You're going to flip this over.
08:44 And now you can fold those flaps down,
08:46 and they're going to stick to that double stick tape.
08:49 Just like so.
08:55 So you just bent all those flaps down
09:01 onto the double stick tape.
09:05 Now what you should have is a piece of double stick tape.
09:09 And you should have a sleeve you can slide stuff in and out of.
09:13 So once you have that complete, you're ready for the next step.
09:20 So once you have the sleeve put on the face of the card,
09:23 you're going to flip it back over.
09:26 Remember that piece of double stick tape from earlier?
09:29 It should still be right there.
09:32 What you're going to do is grab your shim at this point,
09:34 which I use just a metal shim.
09:36 Instead, you could also use a razor blade.
09:38 Just be careful.
09:41 That is just going to go as center as possible in the middle,
09:47 just like that.
09:48 Once you have that piece put in place,
09:54 you're just going to grab three more pieces of double stick
09:56 tape.
09:59 Actually, we're going to make it four this time.
10:01 Four more pieces of double stick tape.
10:06 One on the right, one on the left, one on the bottom,
10:09 and one on the top.
10:10 Just like this.
10:19 Now you're going to make sure it's the right side up.
10:23 You're going to take that joker again and stick it right
10:26 to your gimmick, just like this.
10:31 Now your gimmick is complete.
10:33 Now you're ready to use it.
10:38 I'm going to pick this up.
10:39 I'm going to use my camera person.
10:41 If you would, for me, I'm going to go through this deck.
10:45 I just want you to say stop.
10:48 Stop.
10:49 Right here.
10:50 Can you see this card?
10:52 Actually, it's cool we all see it.
10:54 It's a cool check of diamonds.
10:55 Good choice.
10:56 I'm going to put all these cards back in the deck here.
11:00 It's your card, Jack of diamonds, right?
11:03 What I'm going to do is set this jack right in the cellophane
11:07 here.
11:07 Can you see it's going?
11:10 You can even push it in for me.
11:12 Now what I want to do, grab my wallet.
11:15 It's pretty cool.
11:16 Can you see your card here?
11:17 Can you see my wallet over here?
11:19 Watch.
11:20 Nothing in my hands.
11:21 I'm going to set my wallet right on top.
11:23 And you see your card actually jumps right into the cellophane.
11:28 It actually jumps right into my wallet.
11:31 So that is the card to wallet.
11:40 And I'm going to show you how it's done.
11:42 It's really simple.
11:45 You're going to have a duplicate card.
11:49 You're going to have your gaff set up.
11:54 You're going to have a card ready to be forced.
11:57 And it's going to be the duplicate card.
11:59 So I'm forcing the Jack of diamonds.
12:02 So I know that in my wallet, I need
12:04 to have the Jack of diamonds.
12:06 Now before you do any of this, you're
12:08 going to need to put a magnet in your wallet.
12:11 And you can see I just attached mine with some double stick
12:14 tape right onto a dollar bill.
12:19 So now this slides in my wallet just like so.
12:23 And as it's lying in here, you see the magnet
12:29 is right about here.
12:31 So it's about centered right in there.
12:34 So now the Jack is going to go face up in my wallet.
12:38 The magnet's intact.
12:39 The Jack's intact.
12:40 My wallet's just going to go in my pocket.
12:43 Now my gaff is set up over here.
12:45 I'm just going to have to force that card now.
12:48 So any force you choose, you do a classic or a ripple force.
12:53 So you're just going to force that card.
12:56 These cards go back into the deck.
13:00 And now you're just going to take that card and slide it
13:05 right in.
13:07 And you're going to make sure you do the move from earlier.
13:10 You want to stick it real quick.
13:12 Square it up.
13:13 It's just laying there now.
13:15 And you're going to have the spectator hold out their hand.
13:19 So the spectator holds out their hand.
13:21 And while you're holding this, you're going to pull out your wallet.
13:26 As soon as you set your wallet on top of the gaff,
13:30 the magnet is going to steal it away just like this.
13:35 So be careful not to show what you've got going on under the wallet,
13:40 which is this.
13:43 So once again, this is in the spectator's hands.
13:49 This is in your wallet.
13:51 You're going to put the wallet right on, slowly open,
13:56 show that it penetrated the wallet.
13:59 Make sure it's not falling out of line.
14:03 And you take it out.
14:04 Maybe you've seen it visually jump through your wallet.
14:06 And at this point, you've just got to put your wallet away to clean up.
14:11 Everything's examinable.
14:13 You're left behind.
14:14 This is a bill change using the gaff.
14:17 You can produce or borrow the dollar bill or five dollar bill, whatever.
14:21 Just make sure that it's different than the bill you're changing it into.
14:28 So I'm just going to pull this bill up just like so.
14:32 I'm just going to put that down.
14:34 Pull this bill up.
14:39 I'm going to set it in my gaff just like this.
14:44 You can see now, if I just wave my hand right over my gaff,
14:48 you get that one dollar bill change.
15:00 That's a simple bill change, and this is how it is done.
15:06 It's really simple.
15:08 The only difference I suggest with this one is that instead of using your PK ring,
15:16 you actually do the JW move from earlier where you slip the gaff under the box.
15:22 The reason why is when you fold up the bill and slide it in, it's actually really, really thick.
15:28 Sometimes that magnet won't go through.
15:31 So what you're going to have is a bill folded already in place with the gaff on top just like so.
15:42 You can see there's an extra thickness with this one.
15:45 So try not to show the side of the gaff so much, but try to keep the focus on the top or the bottom of the gaff.
15:53 Even when you set it down, make sure that the attention is off of this.
15:58 You can set it down over here and come over here real quick.
16:02 Or if you're standing, you can put it right here.
16:06 Just get the focus off that for a moment.
16:11 So what you're going to do now after you're borrowing or producing the bill is give it a fold,
16:18 slide it right in in the same spot.
16:22 And you can see the fold is the same way too.
16:24 Not only is it going in the same about center, but you can see I folded the 20 with the outer right face sticking out.
16:32 I did that with the 1.
16:36 So once you've folded it, slide it in.
16:38 You do that J-W move with your hand covering it.
16:41 It's just going to visually change into the 20.
16:48 Now the cleanup is the same from earlier as well.
16:50 If you're at a table, you can spread the cards.
16:54 Or if you're standing, you can just get them in the box and you spread through the cards.
17:02 And that's a bill change.
17:08 Here's another idea.
17:09 I call TNR using the gimmick.
17:12 Check it out.
17:15 So what I mean, would you just say stop.
17:21 Jack of diamonds.
17:22 You see this is the only jack of diamonds?
17:25 Let's try something with this jack.
17:36 Give this jack a fold here.
17:38 That way I can tear it really easy.
17:43 I'm going to fold it in the center here.
17:50 Just like this.
17:52 See this jack is torn in four pieces.
17:55 It's actually the card's back.
18:01 I want you to watch this jack here.
18:03 Slide it right in.
18:06 Watch.
18:07 I'm going to take my hand just like this and spit this jack right back out.
18:13 You can actually see this jack has restored itself.
18:31 That's TNR and this is how it is done.
18:34 It's really simple.
18:36 You take the card you have.
18:41 You're going to have another force card.
18:43 In this case it was the jack of diamonds.
18:48 The duplicate jack of diamonds gets folded.
18:53 Set right into place.
18:59 Make sure you crease it good so it can sit as flat as possible in here.
19:05 This is one I don't like to do so visually but real natural.
19:09 If I were going to perform it, this is how it would look.
19:13 After I force the duplicate card here, you can see I sit this in my pocket.
19:19 My pocket squeezes it together so there's no thickness.
19:25 As I lift the card up, I place it back together.
19:28 I know that my gap, the face of the jack and the diamond is on the outside.
19:36 Once this is set up, I know that that is what I want to have on the outside here.
19:44 The card is set.
19:46 I rip it up.
19:48 This one I don't do so visually.
19:50 I'll slide it in and then I'll pattern.
19:53 As I'm patterning, I'll do the move.
19:56 I'll casually do a pattern that's not so visual.
20:01 I'll be sitting here.
20:03 I'll do the move.
20:04 I'll keep talking.
20:05 Now I'll say, "Okay, check this out."
20:08 The card restores itself.
20:13 You can check out all the cards in the box.
20:19 Very simple.
20:20 That's a T in art.
20:23 That's Conspiracy.
20:25 I hope you guys have as much fun and success with it as I've had.
20:28 It's a really cool utility device you can use for a bunch of different things.
20:32 I haven't even covered everything this could be used for on this video.
20:36 There's a lot that can be done with it.
20:38 I'd love to hear what you guys come up with.
20:40 If you don't want to use a joker, if you don't like the way I make my gap, this is what I'm most comfortable using.
20:45 If you don't like a joker, you can always put in a different card.
20:49 You can use any card.
20:51 If you want, you can have a front here and you can use a back of a card box here.
20:56 That way you can just hide this on the box and just steal it away.
20:59 There's a bunch of different ways you can make your gimmick.
21:02 It's just a basic idea I wanted to get out to you guys.
21:06 Once again, that's Conspiracy.
21:08 I hope you guys have a lot of fun with it.
21:10 Go nuts.
21:14 [Silence]
