00:06 - Percy is a very, very smart,

00:10 but socially awkward 19 year old boy, man,

00:14 who is going to Princeton,

00:16 but he doesn't really have any social skills.

00:19 He doesn't have any friends in real life.

00:20 All of his friends are kind of online.

00:22 He kind of is in that bubble of his parents

00:25 and they're really kind of over-parentifying him.

00:28 - And that's, and he's a virgin.

00:30 - And he's a virgin.

00:31 Such an important trait about him is that he's anti-social

00:34 and I am like extremely overly social.

00:36 But I think the engine for why he stays inside

00:39 and why I am so social is kind of the same.

00:41 It's like one of anxiety and fear.

00:43 And that's, yeah, I think especially growing up

00:47 when I was younger than he is,

00:48 I really was very afraid of the world.

00:51 And I think a lot of people my age are.

00:53 And Maddie is this woman who's lived in Montauk

00:57 her entire life.

00:58 She's an Uber driver,

01:00 but she's not paying her property taxes on time

01:02 so her car gets taken by the state.

01:04 She's very determined to get a new car.

01:05 She's a very determined person.

01:07 And so she finds this Craigslist ad

01:09 to date said anti-social young man

01:13 to get a new car.

01:14 And she'll do whatever it takes.

01:17 - And I am also a determined person

01:20 and I like to laugh at myself.

01:23 So that in common with Maddie.

01:25 - I'm an Uber driver and I don't have a car.

01:28 - Hello. - Come on.

01:30 - His parents said that if I went out with their son,

01:32 he'd give me a car.

01:34 You're gonna spend your life being afraid of everything.

01:36 Oh, shit.

01:36 - It's about a young woman that answers ad

01:38 for older wealthy couples,

01:41 put out an ad for their son.

01:42 They're looking for someone to date,

01:45 almost be a tutor for their son

01:47 before he goes off to college.

01:48 He's very shy and awkward

01:50 and they want a woman to spend time with him

01:53 kind of bring him out of his shell, so to speak.

01:55 And it's about the summer they spent together

01:57 and how they change each other.

01:59 In America, they have, it's a website called Craigslist,

02:03 but it's basically, you can post

02:05 if you're selling your stereo,

02:06 if you want a bicycle.

02:08 So it's on this type of website,

02:09 they put out an advertisement for a woman.

02:12 And this was a real thing that was sent to me

02:14 by the producers that from 2013, that really happened.

02:18 Well, I don't know if it really happened,

02:19 the advertisement's real.

02:21 And I thought, who are the parents that put this out?

02:23 And who's the woman that answers this

02:24 and what's going on in her life?

02:25 So that's kind of gave me the inspiration.

02:27 - My character kind of stays in her age in the movie,

02:30 but being on set with a Gen Z was different.

02:34 Just what they know and what they say.

02:39 And it's just, their generation is very impressive.

02:42 I'm extremely blown away by Gen Z,

02:45 but it was probably the culture shock was more off camera.
