00:00 One king will be crowned this afternoon on a Saturday slugfest brought to you by Treasure
00:25 Boxing Promotions in cooperation with Johnny and Lorde Boxing.
00:29 They are fighting for the WBO Junior Betterweight Global Championship.
00:33 John Real, Cuadro, El Azkacemero versus Philippus Energy, N'Tumbwa, the defending champion.
00:39 My name is James Velasquez together with Rachel Dunaire and Donito Dunaire Jr.
00:44 As Casemiro comes out aggressive to open the first round.
00:48 Rachel, it is important to set the tone in a championship fight.
00:56 Yes it is and I think that John Real Casemiro has done that, just that.
01:02 And Donito of course, you were slated to face this man, John Real Casemiro at this weight
01:07 division do you think this is a place where he can be more comfortable, stronger?
01:13 He is actually, he looks strong, he looks very strong and at the same time he doesn't
01:17 have to cut the weight that he had problems with in the abandoned weight.
01:22 And the defending champion, Philippus Energy, N'Tumbwa, that's a key term that we have to
01:27 put out here.
01:28 Energy, yes you're the defending champion but you are fighting on your opponent's home
01:33 soil.
01:37 John Real is allowing himself, Philippus N'Tumbwa to feel his power early in this fight and
01:44 that is a very important aspect for his fighting style.
01:48 N'Tumbwa undefeated since his professional debut, a unanimous decision loss.
01:56 But Casemiro looking to make a statement early, goes to the body that time.
02:04 I think an overhand and a body would be good for Casemiro to land against N'Tumbwa.
02:13 N'Tumbwa with the high guard coming in but opens up when he punches.
02:21 Chin is up in the air, John Real can time it.
02:26 Coming up on a minute remaining in the opening round.
02:31 All fighters look at the trade, early and often.
02:35 And we don't see this usually where Casemiro is stepping back.
02:40 N'Tumbwa is here to fight.
02:44 Let's remember that Philippus also does have that ability to switch.
02:49 So let's see if he does change that in the second round.
02:52 Great point.
02:54 He slaps with those overhand but I think it's the accumulation of punches that he does damage
02:59 people or his fighter opponents.
03:01 He's trying to protect himself with that shoulder.
03:08 I think John Real is looking for a big shot to land against N'Tumbwa.
03:14 N'Tumbwa trying to unload with that right hand.
03:22 Staying active with the jab as well.
03:27 Casemiro trying to go to the body but met with that left hook counter by N'Tumbwa.
03:31 And that ends a feel it out first round.
03:37 And it's championship time over here at the paddock.
03:41 - Absolutely no Facebook live or recording this live.
03:45 We are monitoring anybody who is showing this live on their cell phone.

04:20 - Welcome back to the Ocada Manila Grand Ballroom as we take a look at some of the highlights
04:24 in the opening round.
04:25 Nonito, walk us through what you saw.
04:27 - Well, in the beginning, Casemiro was trying to impose his power, but Netumbwa came in
04:33 actually with a lot of great defense to nullify a lot of the power that John Rael let out.
04:43 - Felipe's trying to establish that jab, keep John Rael away.
04:50 - And I think John Rael, Casemiro is looking for good timing to catch Netumbwa, knowing
04:56 that his chin is up there when he does attack.
05:00 - Champion though, yes, keeping that distance, but looking to be willing to trade if it came
05:07 to it.
05:08 As Casemiro lands one up top.
05:14 Wild punches now coming from Casemiro.
05:17 - Casemiro trying to land a left also.
05:19 - And Netumbwa's coming back every single time that Casemiro throws those big shots.
05:24 Gotta watch out, Nonito, for that left hook counter that Netumbwa is throwing every time
05:29 Casemiro's opening up.
05:30 - And I think that Netumbwa is looking for that overhand from Casemiro, and that's why
05:35 he has a high guard going into this fight to protect himself.
05:40 But again, when he does go into offense, it's when he is vulnerable for those big shots.
05:50 - So far Netumbwa the one pushing forward.
05:54 Oh, big shot again by Netumbwa.
05:59 - And again, this is something that you don't see with Casemiro.
06:01 Casemiro usually is the one pressing forward in all the fights that we've seen him, majority
06:06 of it.
06:07 - Casemiro, look at the chop him down, has been going with that left hook to the body
06:14 on multiple occasions already.
06:16 And I think that's what they need to do is to break him down to the body to open up the
06:21 top.
06:25 - As you know, I always love the investment into the body early on.
06:29 - And with Pelipo's Netumbwa jabbing and pressing forward, because the thing about pressure
06:34 fighters like Casemiro who likes to throw wide shots is to smother those punches, and
06:41 he's doing the right thing by pressing forward with the high guard to smother the big shot
06:45 from Casemiro.
06:48 - Under a minute remaining in the second round.
06:54 Netumbwa, Renito, has done a great job staying in front of John Riel, despite John Riel trying
07:04 to dance away, step away, and that prevents him from creating like awkward angles.
07:10 - That's correct, because he feels that inside he has the advantage because of John Riel's
07:16 way of punching, which is a wide shot coming from John Riel, which again, you can smother
07:23 to lessen the impact.
07:26 - Netumbwa looking to fire away after hearing the 10 second warning.
07:31 Casemiro again to the body.
07:34 Let's see if that pays off towards the later rounds.
07:37 Back in a moment.
07:39 Just a reminder, once again, no showing of the fight on your cell phone, on social media,
07:45 live.
07:46 It is absolutely prohibited.
07:49 We are monitoring those who are showing it, and you will be asked to leave immediately.
07:54 Thank you.
07:55 - Thank you.
07:55 - Thank you.
08:15 - Back inside the Ocada Manila Grand Ballroom, and this is for the WBO Junior Featherweight
08:21 Global Championship.
08:22 Take a look at the highlights.
08:24 - Some observations you've had in the past two rounds.
08:28 - I feel like Netumbwa was doing amazing as far as controlling the ring.
08:33 The thing is, he's trying to set up that chopping right hand.
08:36 It seems to me that it's more of a slap.
08:38 It's very quick, but more of a slap.
08:40 Even his jab is, actually, sorry, his left hook is more of a slapping left hook.
08:47 - What I see is coming into this fight, Casemiro is very confident.
08:53 And whether it's overconfidence or just confidence that he had, because I know he has a tremendous
09:00 amount of power.
09:02 And sometimes when you are confident, you tend to look past an opponent.
09:08 And with Netumbwa, Netumbwa is coming in there with great certainty, and he's pressing forward
09:13 with great defense, and smothering Jan Rios Casemiro's punches.
09:21 - Jan Rios bobbing, weaving, looking for an opening.
09:25 Again, ducks under and goes to the body.
09:31 - Great shot by Casemiro.
09:32 - Nice shot.
09:33 There you go.
09:34 I believe that's what Jan Rios was looking for.
09:35 - And that body shot.
09:36 - Crowd coming to life.
09:37 Oh, Netumbwa answers.
09:38 - And he's got a good shot.
09:39 - And he's got a good shot.
09:40 - And he's got a good shot.
09:41 - And he's got a good shot.
09:42 - And he's got a good shot.
09:43 - And he's got a good shot.
09:44 - And he's got a good shot.
09:45 - And he's got a good shot.
09:46 - And he's got a good shot.
09:47 - And he's got a good shot.
09:48 - And he's got a good shot.
09:49 - And Netumbwa answers.
09:56 That's smart by Casemiro not getting too trigger happy.
09:59 Oh, but Netumbwa connects.
10:03 - And Netumbwa is just pressing and pressing and it can be very tiring when you get fighters
10:08 like that.
10:09 And I think it's a similar fashion that another African fighter that fought John Uriel was
10:16 to press with a heavy high guard.
10:21 - Netumbwa again pressing the action, moving forward.
10:31 But that combination by Casemiro rocked the champion in this round.
10:38 - And the thing about throwing a lot of punches is they tire you out a lot.
10:41 And I think this is why Netumbwa is just on a high guard hoping to tire Casemiro down
10:49 a little bit.
10:50 - But with that high guard he is exposing himself to those body shots that Casemiro
10:53 has been using.
10:54 - And I think that Casemiro should be using those body shots to open up the head like
10:59 I mentioned earlier.
11:03 - Under 30 seconds remaining in the third round.
11:05 Bouts scheduled for 12.
11:08 - Big body shot by Casemiro and I think that's what he should focus more a lot.
11:12 And of course Netumbwa should be focusing on the jab and pressing forward like he has.
11:17 But of course with Casemiro's style and punches it's a dangerous territory.
11:29 - Almost a simultaneous exchange.
11:31 Another action packed affair and we'll be back for more.

12:34 - Overhand coming from Casemiro.
12:37 [WHISTLE]
12:39 [WHISTLE]
12:41 - Again round number four.
12:43 Bouts scheduled for 12.
12:45 - Good push jab to set up the straight.
12:48 - I think like Rachel said, investing in that body shot is gonna be a big help for Casemiro.
12:56 [WHISTLE]
12:58 [WHISTLE]
13:00 - But John Reel.
13:02 - He's ranging him, he's finding that distance so he can throw and unload that right overhand.
13:08 [WHISTLE]
13:10 - Oh look at...
13:12 - Yes, Ntumwa is having a little bit of fun with the crowd and more concerned with the crowd.
13:16 - I think Casemiro is doing a really good job by setting up with that jab.
13:21 - Everything that he has power, rather than just keep throwing it without setting up.
13:27 - And right now he's throwing that jab, using that jab, stiff-arming with the jab and throwing an overhand or setting up the power shots.
13:34 - Good push.
13:36 - I thought I saw, it looked like he was trying to kiss him in there.
13:41 - Might have...
13:43 - We would have to see that on the replay. - You never know.
13:47 - Coming up on a minute and a half remaining in round number four, Casemiro looking to take more control in round number four.
13:57 - And I think he's controlling this round a bit more with setting up the jab and not allowing Ntumwa to press forward.
14:07 - I was actually going to say I would love to see an uppercut right between the guard.
14:13 - Right.
14:15 - Oh, got tagged there by that left jab.
14:18 - Already... - Jab by Ntumwa and a little straight in there.
14:34 - The champion staying active.
14:37 - Oh, good jab by Casemiro as Ntumwa was stepping in.
14:45 - And Casemiro is doing a great jab, oh setting up again with a jab and an overhand to land on Ntumwa.
14:53 - But he's fighting smart at this moment.
14:56 - Oh, nice left hook by Ntumwa.
15:00 - Good body shot.
15:02 - There's that body shot.
15:09 - Ntumwa still trying to do that chopping right.
15:17 - I think this is a really good look for Casemiro setting up the jab and throwing an overhand and a body along with it as well.
15:26 - Let's see if those investment shots make those hands drop.
15:30 - Round number four in the books, we'll be back for more.
15:35 [MUSIC]
15:39 [MUSIC]
15:43 [MUSIC]
16:11 [MUSIC]
16:14 - Ladies and gentlemen, that was round number four in this championship bout between John Riel Casemiro of the Philippines and Philippus Ntumwa, defending champion from Namibia.
16:22 - Nonito, walk us through again what you saw in that previous round.
16:26 - Well, the body shot was definitely something that he invested on in that round.
16:30 - And the jab, well not just throwing big shots, but he was actually setting up his big shot behind the jab.
16:42 - Thank you so much for joining us again. My name is James Velasquez. I'm third wheeling actually with Nonito and Rachel Donaere.
16:49 - But always a pleasure to see you guys. Obviously, Rachel, now that we're towards the middle rounds,
16:56 - Are you hoping to see the results of those investment shots that you've seen from Casemiro?
17:03 - Yes, I definitely am. And the thing is that Ntumwa, you know, he is trying to keep him at a distance,
17:09 but John Riel Casemiro is doing a good job of circling around the ring, bobbing and weaving.
17:15 - And using those jabs behind to throw those big shots. Again, body shots, investing in those body shots.
17:22 - Casemiro, sort of a wait and bait.
17:29 - Again, body, body, you could hear it from a mile away.
17:38 Those shots you can hear from Rojas Boulevard.
17:41 - One thing that Casemiro does have is a heavy hand.
17:46 - Another one. This time going up top with a left hook.
17:53 - Ntumwa just trying to throw. Anything out there?
18:06 - Oh! Left shot! - Hit John Riel Casemiro with the right hand.
18:10 - He's been trying to land that. See, this is the same one that he was doing earlier,
18:15 but the other one, John Riel was able to slip.
18:18 - I think that Casemiro needs to go back into the jab or even just putting that jab out there in front of Ntumwa's face.
18:29 - You gotta give it to Ntumwa. He's taking these shots pretty well.
18:35 - I'm just gonna point that out, yeah.
18:36 - 100%. You gotta give it up to him. Those shots from Casemiro are very devastating,
18:41 and yet Ntumwa is taking them, especially those body shots and the overhands from Casemiro.
18:47 - Oh, one-two. - I heard that one.
18:51 - By Ntumwa, yeah.
18:52 - Look at them trying to trade body shots. - Yes, body for body.
19:03 - Body for body.
19:05 - But notice, Nonito, that every time Casemiro lands to the head, to the body,
19:15 you see the defending champion answer back with a one-two or a one-two-three.
19:19 - Oh, nice shot! - Nice shot, yeah.
19:23 - Overhand. That's exactly what Casemiro has been waiting for.
19:27 - Oh! Casemiro!
19:31 - Oh, he's saved by the bell in this one.
19:34 - What an explosive end to round number five.
19:38 - Saved by the bell, and will be able to recover for one minute.
19:42 Let's see if that affects him in the next round.
19:44 - Oh, he's saved by the bell in this one.
19:46 [MUSIC PLAYING]
19:49 [MUSIC PLAYING]
19:52 [MUSIC PLAYING]
20:20 [WHISTLE BLOWING]
20:22 - Round number six about to start from inside the Ocada Manila Grand Ballroom
20:26 and John Riel Casemiro.
20:28 Rachel, what a finish to the previous round.
20:30 - Yes, and you know, it's sometimes disheartening for a fighter
20:34 when you put in all that work in that round,
20:36 and they get away with the--
20:38 - Oh!
20:39 - Oh!
20:40 - Oh!
20:41 - He went out!
20:42 - Ntumwa is down on the mat. - Ntumwa down!
20:45 - Getting counted, his legs are wobbling.
20:48 - Is he going to come towards the ref?
20:52 - And the defending champion has been knocked down.
20:55 Casemiro-- - They're allowing it to go.
20:58 - Casemiro going in for the kill.
21:00 - Casemiro going for the kill.
21:02 - He's trying to get the distance to be able to hit him.
21:05 - Ntumwa was out. - Ntumwa covering up.
21:09 Trying to hit him with that--
21:11 He's trying to save right now by holding John Riel Casemiro.
21:15 - He's wobbly.
21:16 He's wobbly, Donito.
21:17 - He's just one punch away.
21:19 Just one punch away.
21:20 I think Anabruka will do this one.
21:22 - John Riel just needs to get that distance
21:24 to be able to fire his shot.
21:26 - Oh, look at him.
21:27 Look at him, almost out on his feet.
21:29 Almost out on his feet.
21:31 - He's reaching in to try to clinch John Riel from hitting him.
21:36 He tries to get a left hook in,
21:38 and the barrage of punches that John Riel is throwing.
21:42 - The champion just swinging for dear life.
21:45 - His right leg is out.
21:47 It's barely bending.
21:48 - He is just a punch away, and he has no more power.
21:51 - We still have half of the round left.
21:54 - He has no legs.
21:57 He's barely keeping himself up.
21:59 - But how can Casemiro capitalize, Donito?
22:02 - Again, just using that jab, push him off with it,
22:05 and then going through in between those shots
22:07 or in between those hands.
22:09 - Use feints, get him to react,
22:13 and then wherever that opening is, take it.
22:17 - Another big shot.
22:18 - Oh, and now somebody's about to go down again.
22:21 - But I think the champ is sort of recovering.
22:23 - Oh, that was a good body shot.
22:25 - Casemiro has to capitalize here.
22:27 A minute remaining.
22:29 Let's go, John Riel.
22:30 His corner is yelling.
22:32 The defending champion looking to stay on his feet.
22:36 - His legs are locking out, though.
22:39 His balance is off.
22:40 He's trying to survive.
22:41 The last 50 seconds of round 6.
22:45 - Give it to the defending champion,
22:47 the toughness to stay on his feet.
22:52 - Good shot, and I think those body shots,
22:54 he needs to work more on those shots.
22:56 And then coming in underneath,
22:57 in the middle of Ntumbo's hands.
23:01 - But, Donito, of course,
23:02 you don't want to punch yourself out.
23:05 You don't want to gas out.
23:07 - Of course.
23:08 - Ntumbo with a one-two,
23:10 trying to keep him away with a jab.
23:12 20 seconds left in round 6.
23:16 - He's probably going to survive this.
23:19 - Unbelievable.
23:20 That's a lot of heart coming from Ntumbo
23:22 after getting hit by a big shot
23:25 that Casemiro threw.
23:29 - Oh, Casemiro can't be careless.
23:32 He is saved by the bell.
23:34 - Wow.
23:35 - Give it to the champion.
23:36 What toughness, what grit,
23:38 what heart will be back for more?
23:41 [music]
24:01 - All right, Donito, walk us through the sequence.
24:06 - I think going into this,
24:08 Ntumbo was very confident in beginning the round.
24:13 Then he got hit with that left hook,
24:14 and he went out, and he was very hurt.
24:20 - Unfortunately for Cuadro Alastor,
24:23 he wasn't able to capitalize and finish the job.
24:26 - I was surprised Ntumbo got up.
24:30 - I don't think anyone thought
24:31 he was going to get up from that.
24:35 - Here we go, round number 7.
24:37 - All right, did he get his legs back underneath him?
24:40 Filipe in the last round had very wobbly legs.
24:44 Couldn't establish his balance.
24:47 - Now Ntumbo's throwing jab,
24:50 trying to think that he is okay,
24:52 because I know for sure when you get hit,
24:55 it doesn't recover that fast.
24:57 - I was just about to ask you that.
24:59 How long or how short is a recovery time
25:02 when you get hit by a bomb like that?
25:05 - Especially coming from Casemiro with the heavy hand,
25:08 I was surprised he was able to get up,
25:09 and I know that will last him until tomorrow,
25:12 or even the whole week.
25:15 - But Casemiro though, getting tagged,
25:17 can't be careless again.
25:18 I saw him taking deep breaths, Rachel, in his corner.
25:22 - Well, sometimes you get so over-excited
25:26 that you're throwing so much power,
25:27 and I think that's what he was trying to do,
25:29 because it was only a punch away
25:31 from the previous rounds.
25:33 - He put in a lot of work last round.
25:36 - That's a battle trying to measure him.
25:44 - And Ntumbo throwing that long-range jab,
25:46 trying to get the distance this time around.
25:50 - Also trying to keep John Riel Casemiro away from him.
25:54 - John Riel needs to cut the distance again
25:57 and be able to be on the inside
25:58 so he would be able to land more of his punches.
26:01 His distance, not Ntumbo's.
26:02 - He still don't have his legs.
26:03 If you notice how he's hopping,
26:05 he still doesn't have his legs.
26:08 - I actually believe that if John Riel
26:11 moves around the ring more, utilizes the ring more,
26:14 it will be extremely hard for Ntumbo to follow him
26:17 at this point.
26:18 His legs do not look right.
26:20 - You're absolutely correct,
26:21 and that lateral movement would be the key
26:24 in shifting away.
26:25 - Did that body shot just hurt him?
26:27 - I mean, the last one, when he was hurt,
26:29 he got hit with a good body shot.
26:32 And I wouldn't be surprised
26:33 if he's hurt with that body shot.

28:30 - A devastating one at that.
28:34 - Now, two rounds after that knockdown.
28:36 Is that enough time, Nonito, for the defending champ to recover?
28:40 - I mean, he's recovering really well because
28:42 he's trained for this, but at any moment,
28:45 he can go down and he won't get up
28:48 if he gets hit with those shots again.
28:50 - Nice combination by John Riel.
28:53 Nice body shot again.
28:55 - Now, Rachel, you see him setting up those power shots.
28:58 - Exactly, and that's what we needed him to do.
29:01 You can't just throw it at--just whenever
29:04 without there actually being a target to hit.
29:07 You waste energy like that. You get tired.
29:10 - And that's something that you do get excited over,
29:16 especially if you have power behind it.
29:18 You just forget to set up at times,
29:21 especially hurting Nitungbo the way he did early on.

29:54 - Oh! Nice shot there.
29:57 You can see also, Rachel, Casemiro is rolling
30:07 those punches. - Yes.
30:09 Exactly, so every single time that Nitungbo
30:12 throws the right hand, you see Casemiro roll with it
30:16 and then rotate out of that situation.
30:20 So it's harder for Nitungbo to follow through
30:23 if he misses the overhand right.
30:27 - Donito, those details,
30:29 those are the things that I love about this sport.
30:33 - It's a science, you know, and a lot of things,
30:36 again, going back into it, setting up the punches
30:39 like John Riel just did.
30:41 He threw a jab before anything,
30:43 not just throwing those big bolo shots that he's done,
