00:15 So today I'm here with a review on the Rimmel London ProvocaLips 16 hour kiss proof lip
00:20 color.
00:21 I only got two.
00:23 Usually when I do a review and I see a new display at the drug store, I get every single
00:28 color but I was like, "16 hour wear lip color?"
00:33 It kind of freaked me out a little bit so I decided to just get two and try them out
00:38 and I'm glad I did.
00:40 Now let me tell you why.
00:42 This is going to be a 60 second review by the way.
00:44 Yeah, right?
00:46 I imagine.
00:47 So I do love long wearing lip colors like Kat Von D's long wearing lip color.
00:55 I love it.
00:56 The ones from Sephora, the store brand, I love them.
00:59 Lime Crime Velveteens, love them.
01:02 But when it's a two step process, I'm like, "Ain't nobody got time for that."
01:07 And I'm not a big fan of carrying products around with me.
01:11 In my purse, I carry the essentials, maybe a chapstick and like a nude gloss.
01:17 The only gloss I have in my purse is Chanel's Giggle.
01:20 And I will literally put that one on top of whatever's on my lips if I need to retouch.
01:24 So I'm not a fan of carrying stuff around.
01:27 And I feel like when it's a two step process, this little hydration part needs to be reapplied.
01:33 That happened with the CoverGirl ones, that happened with the L'Oreal ones.
01:37 The two step process thing, I just, I can't get on that, I can't get on board with that.
01:41 So I'm a little biased.
01:42 I kind of had my mind made up from the jump.
01:45 But I do have to have a thorough, concise, unbiased opinion over these products because
01:51 it might be something that you like.
01:54 So these originally came out in the UK first, like all Rimmel products do.
01:59 And they're a pretty good product.
02:03 I paid seven, almost eight dollars for each, but they were buy one, get one half off.
02:10 So I know they're a lot more expensive in Europe.
02:13 I think they're like 15 bucks each.
02:16 So it is a lower price point drugstore product.
02:23 The ones like this from L'Oreal are 14 dollars at CVS.
02:27 It's crazy.
02:28 So, I mean if you're looking for a long wear lip color, you might want to try this one
02:32 first before you take the plunge.
02:34 Because 14 dollars, I mean I could go buy a MAC lipstick for two more dollars.
02:38 Do you know what I mean?
02:39 So I personally really like Rimmel lipsticks.
02:44 The K collection is amazing.
02:46 They're apocalypse, life changing.
02:48 They have really great lip products.
02:53 These don't tend to be some of my favorites because they do feel a little sticky.
03:01 And they claim to be 16 hour wear.
03:03 I wouldn't say 16 hours, but I would say at least 12.
03:07 They stain your lips like a mother trucker.
03:10 I mean you need to exfoliate your lips at the end of the night if you want to remove
03:15 all signs of color.
03:17 So you need for sure an oily, or not an oily, but like an oil type makeup remover over your
03:26 lips because a little makeup wipe is not going to do the trick.
03:30 In fact, when I was going to do this video, I didn't want to do a swatch on my hand of
03:35 the two colors that I have because I know it's going to stain my hand for the rest of
03:39 the day.
03:40 So maybe I'll do it like on my arm and then wear a long sleeve.
03:44 I mean legit, it will not come off.
03:46 So these 16 hour wear kiss proof lip colors come with two sides.
03:52 One side has the intense color, or the color concentrate, or the stain.
03:57 And then the other side has the lock and shine.
04:01 So it's kind of weird.
04:04 You wouldn't imagine that this is what it actually is.
04:08 Usually you expect it to be like a chapstick or like a lip balm, but it's actually like
04:13 a clear jelly.
04:15 It smells, don't judge me, it smells a little bit like a car wash.
04:22 Not like gross like a car wash, but like you know those little trees that you hang in your
04:27 car and they smell kind of like citrus?
04:29 Or when they spray your car on the rugs to smell nice?
04:34 That's kind of what it smells like.
04:35 The actual stain doesn't smell like anything, but the one that goes on top that you're going
04:40 to be smelling over and over, that one smells, it smells like car deodorizer.
04:46 So it smells nice, I like when my car smells nice, but I don't know if I want my lips to
04:51 smell like a car.
04:53 So they have a really nice range of colors.
04:55 I think there's 10 or 12 colors in the collection.
04:58 They have from like the hottest red, like fiery red to like a hot pink.
05:02 They have a really pale, pale nude.
05:05 Kind of like Mac's Myth, like I mean really pale.
05:08 But I decided to go with two colors that sort of similarly resemble trends that are going
05:14 on right now, like the color of year and maybe like the Kylie Jenner lip.
05:18 So the two colors that I got were, you guys it literally took me like a minute to find
05:24 it.
05:25 I got Make Your Move and Kiss Fatale or Fatal.
05:31 This is Make Your Move and this is Kiss, the one I'm wearing right now, Kiss Fatale or
05:34 Fatal.
05:35 Fatale, I like how that sounds.
05:38 I don't know if I'm saying it right, don't judge me.
05:39 So like I said, it is a very long wearing lip color.
05:42 It will last a good 10 to 12 hours.
05:44 I mean it'll last you all through work.
05:46 It does tend to be a little uncomfortable once the lock it part, this part wears off.
05:52 It tends to be a little uncomfortable.
05:54 It feels kind of drying.
05:56 But if you reapply it, you're good to go.
05:57 There's a couple of problems with these.
05:59 The first problem is if you want to change your lip color, you can't.
06:03 When you go to bed at night, you're going to wake up wearing the same color lipstick
06:08 that you applied the next day because that's how much it stains.
06:13 And then the other thing is that if you tend to have drier lips, lips with texture, like
06:19 I have a lot of texture on my lips, tend to suffer from chapped lips or you have dry patches
06:26 or you don't like to exfoliate your lips, it will cling on to those dry patches and
06:30 it will emphasize them.
06:32 And throughout the day, your lips will start to feel a little bit more and more and more
06:36 dry.
06:37 Not to the point where you're miserable or uncomfortable, but it does feel a little bit
06:41 more dry.
06:42 So like I said, you have to carry it around with you.
06:45 Now I did try to just apply lip balm over the stain while I was out because I already
06:51 have it in my purse and it worked pretty well.
06:53 I mean it's kind of like this except it's just a random lip balm.
06:56 So it's not that big of an imposition.
06:58 I do like the fact that it's, of all the stains or long wearing lip colors out right now because
07:03 that seems to be the trend, they are one of the most affordable ones and they're not uncomfortable.
07:09 You know, they're not awful.
07:10 So at about eight bucks you get quite a bit amount of product.
07:13 It is a new product.
07:14 I don't believe it to be limited edition.
07:17 And you can see how it's not glossy.
07:21 So the product that comes out of here, although it is a doe foot applicator, it doesn't make
07:27 your lips glossy.
07:28 It makes them look, I don't know, almost like a satiny, you know what I mean?
07:35 It's a really beautiful finish that it gives you.
07:37 So I'm going to bring you guys in closer really quick just to show you the two colors that
07:40 I have and show you the applicator.
07:43 Welcome to my face.
07:44 Do you see how pretty this color is?
07:46 I mean, is it not super fitting for the color of the year?
07:49 I mean, I think it's perfect.
07:51 So that color is Kiss Fatal.
07:53 I know I'm just saying that wrong.
07:57 It's Kiss Fatal.
07:58 So that's what the applicator looks like.
08:01 It's a double-sided applicator.
08:04 That's what the stain looks like.
08:05 You see it kind of swatches kind of mauve, but on the lips it's a little bit more burgundy.
08:11 And then the other color is Make Your Move.
08:14 And I thought this would be perfect for like the Kylie Jenner makeup, Kylie Jenner lip
08:20 color.
08:21 See how pretty that is?
08:22 It's like a less brown Lolita from Kat Von D. So I really like that.
08:29 I also like that even though these are long-wearing lip colors, they don't have that stark matte
08:38 finish.
08:39 And I know with long-wearing lip colors like the ones from Kat Von D or from Stila, they
08:42 have that stark matte finish.
08:44 And if you try to apply a lip balm or a lip gloss over them, they don't play nice.
08:52 They don't play very nice at all.
08:54 It can be sticky.
08:55 They can ball up.
08:56 It can be a little uncomfortable.
08:58 This one doesn't do that.
08:59 This one does play nice with others.
09:01 So if you accidentally forgot this and you don't have the lock and seal that goes on
09:07 top, let me show you.
09:09 It really does nothing.
09:11 It's like the texture of almost like a creamy Vaseline.
09:16 So the finish is not like a stark matte.
09:19 It still makes your lips look plump and healthy.
09:22 So that's a big advantage for a lip stain, I would say.
09:26 If it's a lip stain that can make your lips look healthy and not take away or make them
09:29 look wrinkly or like raisins, then I mean, I think that's a really positive point in
09:37 a review.
09:38 You know what I mean?
09:39 If you're out in your local drugstore and you're looking for an affordable, long-wearing,
09:44 non-matte lip color, I think you will really have a good experience with these from Rimmel.
09:52 I found mine at a CVS, but I know other people have already seen them at Walgreens.
09:56 So it might be worth a shot.
09:57 So if you guys are interested in a long-wearing, non-matte, I just said that, lip color, then
