00:00 Today's show they're hot they're sexy they're bald and they're women
00:04 We're coming to you from Philadelphia, how you doing Philadelphia?
00:29 All right
00:31 I'll tell you what since I've been here
00:35 I've been walking down the street and I've noticed a lot of people with tattoos with piercings and even a lot of people with bald
00:40 Heads, okay, but the one question we're asking here today is is bald
00:46 beautiful
00:49 Got a mixed response
00:51 Take a look at the picture here the beautiful little girl thick dark brown hair
00:57 And now let's take a look at a picture of her a little older. She's in high school here
01:01 Look at her hair man that thick beautiful hair
01:03 Well, do you want to see her now?
01:06 All right, Nicole come on out
01:24 All right seated next to Nicole is her mother grace and grace says her daughter is a
01:30 disgrace since she shaved her head
01:33 Grace what's your problem with how your daughter looks? Well, I'm just it's really sad because she's a beautiful girl and
01:45 She's doing it for the wrong reason. She says she's making a statement, but she's really doing it. I think she's obviously making a statement
01:53 But it's the wrong reason she wants to get back at her. Really? Yes
01:57 Nicole Nicole
02:00 Be honest with us. Is this your own of statement of your independence? Are you trying to get back to your dad?
02:06 Well, I I think it's um for me. I feel liberated without hair
02:11 I really do I mean think of all the hours and money and
02:15 Wasted time and energy people spend on their hair and if they can be beautiful without it
02:22 excellent
02:24 You know, I understand that and that sounds nice
02:31 But if your mom is right and if you're doing this to get back at your dad
02:34 Then if anything you're doing it because you're a slave to him. Do you know what I mean?
02:39 Well, okay when you say I'm doing it to get back at my father
02:42 How do you think this gets back at him? I don't live in his realm of existence
02:46 He doesn't see me when they call you think you're not trying to get his blessing
02:51 But you are and but this is alienating him even for but see but see my father
02:56 He's in the military and it's okay for a guy to have a shaved head. It's alright. That's military cut
03:02 In fact, he gets mad at my brother because my brother has long hair. So fine. I got a military cut
03:08 Nicole well, it's on the wrong child. Is this something that only a guy should be able to do then?
03:16 I'm waiting to my father. Yes. Well, see Charles see we're very Hispanic and Hispanic values and
03:22 But
03:29 Do you as long as you brought that up? You also believe that she is is rebelling against her Hispanic traditions, too
03:35 Yes. Yeah. Yes, because everything she was a little girl. She goes. I'm not Hispanic. I'm not Hispanic
03:42 Because she grew up with all Anglo peers and no, that's not that's not it
03:46 That is not it's not that I'm not Hispanic you are what you are
03:49 But I was not brought up in a Hispanic area. I wasn't brought up with Hispanic culture around me
03:55 I can't speak the language. I mean that's because from being a military child
04:01 But we tried to raise it is not denouncing my heritage
04:04 Nicole the Spanish people don't want to claim you
04:11 Know grace that's pretty hard. That's a pretty hard thing to say. Let me take a comment. What do you think?
04:16 Is she denying her heritage? Yes, what do you do when you're me? I want to say it to the hands to your hair
04:21 Have you ever felt a shaved head though, have you ever felt it it tingles when somebody you're having a good time touching your head
04:38 What do guys say do they like it um
04:40 Well, actually, okay. I kind of have a story behind this too. I used to be a topless dancer and I had long hair
04:48 I had really long your mom is mortified right now
04:51 And when they hire you they hire you for the length of your hair the way your hair is and whatnot
04:57 and they always told me do not cut your hair do not cut your hair and
05:01 Well, I mean you obviously are a sex object when you're a dancer
05:06 And you become really attached to your hair, and I wanted to see if I could do well
05:10 Without hair if I could still be considered sexy without hair and as soon as I shaved it
05:16 They they told me you are no longer welcome back
05:18 And do you think that's wrong? I think it is because I I've not gone with that
05:24 I agree with that she didn't cut it or shave it because she she wanted to make a statement
05:30 Maybe she was self-loathing hating herself because she was a topless dancer, and she shaved her head
05:34 (applause)
05:36 What did your dad do to you to make you want to get back at him?
05:42 Oh boy
05:44 That's a good question
05:46 Because everything your mom just brought up about shame has to do with this
05:49 I grew up in a very strict household. Yeah, I wasn't allowed to date at all in high school
05:54 I would get grounded if I received phone calls from boys
05:56 It was just abusive like mentally not physically, but mentally abusive. Yes, I agree with that. We were very punitive
06:03 We raised her the wrong way. We made a lot of mistakes
06:05 So what's funny is it that her father is the one that's given her such a hard time and maybe he's the one that made
06:11 This happen in the first place. Maybe so well like the pictures you saw that's what I look like when I was living with them
06:17 That's what I had to look like and as soon as I moved out on my own
06:20 I was free to be who I wanted to be who I want to be yes
06:23 (applause)
06:25 Are you happy?
06:27 With my hair?
06:28 Comfortable yes, I keep shaving it. I can't seem to grow it out. I love it
06:32 I'll say more power to you because my family
06:35 I'm a female impersonator don't let anyone ever put you down tell you wrong for what you do live your life and be happy
06:40 (applause)
06:42 (applause)
06:44 (applause)
06:46 Go ahead up here to my right
06:48 I'm sorry that is pretty lazy that you cut all your hair off
06:50 It's pretty what?
06:52 Lazy. Lazy?
06:54 Yes, she said
06:56 But you know women hide behind their hair all the time. They get it dyed. They get it permed. They put hairspray
07:02 They ruin the ozone
07:04 I don't need to do that. If I can look beautiful without hair I am that much more gorgeous
07:08 Oh my God
07:10 I don't need hair. I don't need to hide behind my hair
07:12 You know what I want to do now? I want to find somebody in our studio audience that's willing to get their head shaved
07:17 Um I'm going to ask around here. You'd get your head shaved right now on this show?
07:22 Hop up. Come on. Come with me
07:24 (applause)
07:26 How you doing? What's your name?
07:28 George. George?
07:30 You're not going to lose your hair?
07:32 Alright well go with this page right here. He's going to escort you off
07:36 These are a couple more members of our audience that expressed that they wanted to get their head shaved also
07:42 So go ahead. Thank you
07:44 (applause)
07:46 (applause)
07:48 Alright
07:50 Now I want to introduce you to somebody
07:52 Hold on. I know you all want to lose your hair but it's not going to happen today
07:58 I want to introduce you to Michelle. Will you stand up please Michelle?
08:00 How you doing? Pretty good
08:02 Now you've got long hair here right?
08:04 It's almost like Breck girl hair
08:06 I guess
08:08 Are you proud of your hair? Um yeah
08:10 I've liked it. I've had it for 14 years and it's just
08:14 It's time for a change
08:16 It's time for a change
08:18 So you're going to lose this hair today. You willing to do this?
08:20 It's liberating
08:22 Alright. Come on down
08:24 (applause)
08:26 We're going to send Michelle backstage. I'm going to bring her back later. And you're going to see her lose her golden locks.
08:33 Will you shave your head to prove your love for your boyfriend? We'll meet a woman who did just that when we come back. Stay with us.
08:40 [crowd cheers]
08:41 [music]
08:54 Welcome to Philadelphia, Charles! The city of brotherly love!
08:58 [crowd cheers]
09:01 Alright, I want you to hear this question. If your boyfriend ever asked you to shave your head to prove your love to him, would any of you do it?
09:08 No!
09:10 Alright, well my next guest did just that. Take a look at this picture of her before.
09:14 Alright, Carla and Paul, come on out.
09:19 [music]
09:33 Paul! You have hair! You have a lot of hair! And you've asked her to shave her head?
09:42 Yes, I did.
09:43 Why?
09:44 Well, we were dating for a little while and she had told me that she loved me at one point and I was kind of surprised.
09:51 I said, "You don't even really know me."
09:54 This wasn't the first date or something, right?
09:56 No, this was like six months into the relationship. And I said, "If you love me so much, why don't you shave your head?"
10:01 And the next day, she came over and...
10:04 There it is.
10:06 [crowd cheers]
10:10 Wait, here's what I want to know. Is this like a fetish thing? Do you get off on it? Does it make her more sexy to you?
10:16 Oh yeah. I mean, I was surrounded by bald women.
10:19 I talked to him a little bit. He asked her to shave his head because he wants everybody to notice his beauty.
10:25 [crowd cheers]
10:29 You have a comment on that?
10:30 Yeah. I want to know, what do them two ladies do to make their hair look different? I mean, girls get their hair done different ways each week. What do they do to make it look different?
10:37 Our face. Look at our face.
10:39 It doesn't matter what makes us different.
10:41 It's not about you.
10:42 We don't have a name to detract from our face. Now you see our features.
10:46 I want to get back to Karl and Paul here for a second. So, this is a turn on for him. You like running your hands over her head? You like touching it and feeling it?
10:55 I like shaving it.
10:56 You like shaving it?
10:57 [crowd laughs]
11:00 Okay.
11:01 I've got to ask you this question. Is it like a form of foreplay?
11:06 No. It has led into it a couple of times.
11:09 It's led into it.
11:10 We don't usually do it as foreplay.
11:13 What about his hair? Carla, do you like his hair?
11:16 I love it. It's beautiful.
11:17 Would you ever ask him to shave his hair off?
11:19 Never.
11:20 Even to prove his love to you?
11:22 He didn't do it.
11:24 [crowd laughs]
11:26 He pointed out my beauty by being bald. He didn't force it at me.
11:31 Let me get a comment.
11:33 [crowd laughs]
11:36 Would you shave your hair?
11:38 No. Would you shave this hair?
11:41 Yes.
11:42 You know what? You haven't heard the whole story yet.
11:45 The rest of the story is that she wants to grow her hair back, but she's not going to because he doesn't want her to.
11:53 [crowd laughs]
11:59 Let me take a comment from over here. Go ahead.
12:02 I would like to ask you what gives you the right to ask her to shave her hair off and you won't shave your hair off.
12:09 [crowd cheers]
12:10 I think basically that you're an ego chauvinist male pig.
12:16 [crowd cheers]
12:21 You had a real problem.
12:22 No, no. It was out of--
12:23 You had the problem because I want to know where is your individuality at?
12:28 Where is your pride?
12:30 [crowd cheers]
12:32 Grace, you agree with this lady, right?
12:34 No, no. At the lobby of the hotel, he said, "If you had this hair, would you shave it?"
12:40 He loves himself.
12:43 [crowd laughs]
12:45 Paul, you got a response to that?
12:48 Yes or no? You said that to me.
12:51 Yes, I did. Yes, I did. And I love this hair. Yes, I do. And I would not shave it.
12:55 Paul, that's not the issue. The issue is that you've asked her to not grow her hair back even though she'd like to.
13:01 Right.
13:02 And you have a right to do that.
13:04 I think she's extremely beautiful like this.
13:06 Did you show him a picture before?
13:08 No, so people can look at him and not her.
13:11 It's not about that, though. It's about what she wants. What do you want?
13:16 I want him to be happy because he treats me excellent.
13:19 [crowd cheers]
13:21 Audience, did you hear that?
13:23 [crowd laughs]
13:25 Hold on, hold on, hold on.
13:27 She said, "I want him to be happy because he treats me excellent."
13:32 [crowd cheers]
13:34 Why would you get your hair shaved for a man? Why wouldn't you do it because you want to do it?
13:38 [crowd cheers]
13:42 Audience, let's give her a chance to answer the question. Why would you do this for a man? Why not just do it for you?
13:47 Because I had never crossed my mind before I met Paul.
13:50 [crowd laughs]
13:52 You don't know where we're from. We're from a small town and people just don't walk around like this.
13:58 It's very controversial.
14:00 Where are you from?
14:02 New Baltimore, Michigan. It's a suburb of Detroit.
14:05 And she's very shallow to tell me that I don't have any self-esteem.
14:09 She's never met me before in my life.
14:12 Let me take another comment here. Go ahead, ma'am.
14:14 Yes, this question is for Nicole. You said that you're trying to make a statement.
14:18 What statement are you trying to make?
14:20 No, I didn't say I was trying to make a statement. My mother said I was trying to make a statement.
14:23 Well, why did you cut your hair like that?
14:25 Because I don't need it. I have no use for it.
14:28 [crowd cheers]
14:33 You both stand up for a second. I just noticed out of the corner of my eye, there's an audience here.
14:38 [crowd cheers]
14:41 They're beautiful.
14:43 I would say the two of you are making a statement, but what do you think about what's going on here?
14:47 Well, I basically think that everyone has the right to do whatever they want.
14:52 And if they want to shave their heads, they should be able to shave their heads.
14:55 What do you think about the fact that she won't grow it back because he doesn't want her to?
14:58 Well, I don't know as far as her shaving her head for somebody else.
15:02 But as far as people shaving their heads in general, I think if it looks good and they feel good about it, that they should do it.
15:08 Because it's how you feel about yourself, not how you feel about somebody else.
15:11 [crowd cheers]
15:13 All right, thank you.
15:14 Next, two bald heads and a baby make three. Stay with us.
15:19 [crowd cheers]

15:42 [crowd cheers]
15:45 From the baking soda experts.
15:47 [bell dings]
15:48 Coming up later, you won't want to miss this.
15:52 You're holding your hair.
15:53 Yes.
15:55 You miss it?
15:56 No way.
15:58 [crowd cheers]
16:06 I think guys and girls who shave their head, that they might be making an artistic statement or a political statement.
16:14 My next guests are into tattoos, body piercings, and shaving their heads.
16:19 And their baby son.
16:21 All right, meet Amy and Bob. Welcome to the show.
16:24 [crowd cheers]
16:29 Amy, you're not bald.
16:31 Oh, yeah, I am, actually.
16:33 [crowd cheers]
16:40 Would you stand up, please?
16:42 Could you turn around for us?
16:44 [crowd cheers]
16:50 Okay, you're the only couple up here where both of your heads are shaved.
16:55 Why do you guys shave your heads?
16:57 Because we want to.
16:59 [crowd cheers]
17:04 You also have a tattoo on your head.
17:06 Yeah.
17:07 It's one thing to shave it. Why tattoo it?
17:09 Well, first of all, I'd like to start with the reason why I shaved it.
17:13 About three years ago, my little sister died.
17:15 And I really felt like I needed a rebirth experience, something to waken me up, to just make me feel better.
17:23 And I entertained the thought for a year, and I really didn't have the courage to do it until I had my own little boy.
17:29 And when he was about three, I finally had the guts to do it, and I did it.
17:34 And it was just a phase. I just wanted to shave it and then grow it back real long.
17:38 And then--
17:39 What happened? You liked it?
17:40 I love it. I just can't grow it back.
17:42 Were you two in a relationship at that time?
17:44 Yeah, we were.
17:45 Okay. Well, let me go-- Are you a husband and wife, or are you a boyfriend and girlfriend?
17:49 Just dating a little.
17:51 Dating?
17:52 We are. We're in love. We're not going to get married.
17:54 Okay. You're lovers? Can I use that?
17:55 Yes.
17:56 Okay. You're lovers. You have a baby together.
17:58 Uh-huh.
17:59 Okay. And you have a lot of piercings, too, don't you?
18:01 Yeah.
18:02 Actually, we've got a before picture of you. Why don't we take a look at them before their heads were shaved?
18:06 So that's your before, and here's your after.
18:10 What do you think, audience? Before?
18:13 Before!
18:16 How about after?
18:18 [applause]
18:22 Okay. You're getting some mixed reviews here, not that you necessarily care.
18:25 But let me get into the piercing thing, too, because you shave your heads together.
18:28 You also are into piercings, right?
18:30 Uh-huh.
18:31 Okay. Well, what do you have pierced? May I ask each of you?
18:34 You want to go first?
18:35 I don't have piercings.
18:37 How many piercings do you have, Bob?
18:39 Around 15.
18:41 Around 15 piercings?
18:43 Your ear, face, on your body, I would gather?
18:46 No nipples and no belly button, but below the belt, I'm pierced five times.
18:50 Okay. I'm going to stop right there.
18:54 I'm going to stop right there, because that's a different show. We've actually done that show.
19:00 Well, Amy, is this true for you, too?
19:03 Yeah.
19:05 Here's the question I have. Whether it's shaving your head or the piercing for the tattoos, is there something erotic about all of this?
19:11 It depends on the piercing.
19:13 Are you talking about the whole thing?
19:14 Yeah, in general, the package, yeah.
19:16 Uh, just--
19:18 It's more of a rites of passage.
19:19 I think it's an art form in a way.
19:21 It's definitely--
19:22 It's a way of expressing yourself, and, you know, your body can be a canvas.
19:26 Just like, you know, you women out there who have hair, you style it. You make it the way you want it to look.
19:31 Well, this is the way we want to look. We find beauty in that.
19:35 I've got to come back to Amy and Bob for a second, okay, because sitting next to them is their friend, Todd.
19:39 Todd says Amy was much more beautiful with hair, and he thinks, if anything, now she's starting to look like a skinhead.
19:45 Todd, what's wrong with looking like a skinhead?
19:50 Skinheads are knuckleheads, first off.
19:57 You two have been friends for a long time, or for a while?
19:59 Say again?
20:00 You've been friends for a while?
20:01 Yes, a long time.
20:02 Okay, were both of them in a relationship?
20:04 Both of them, yes.
20:05 Okay, both of them, okay.
20:06 And Amy was cute, cute, cute before.
20:08 Now, that doesn't say that she's not pretty now, okay, but I remember remarking with my wife one day when hair cut,
20:14 how pretty she looked, and she looked happy, and she had a great outfit on, and she just seemed so full of life.
20:19 And then Bob came into work the next day, and he said, "Oh, Amy shaved her head last night."
20:23 And both Kristen and I were like, "My God, not that. Okay, please, not that."
20:27 Have you told her what you think she looks like?
20:30 I don't think she looks like a knucklehead. I think skinheads are knuckleheads.
20:34 But you think she's starting to look like a skinhead.
20:36 But at the same time, because they have short hair, because their hair is that short, because other people have hair that short,
20:41 every time I see people with no hair like that, you have to size them up on the street and say,
20:46 "Okay, what's coming my way right now?" And it's boring.
20:49 That part of it is boring. They're not boring, but that part of the whole thing is boring.
20:53 What do you mean? Boring or dangerous? What do you--
20:55 To me, it's--that whole, "I'm going through that kind of danger" is boring.
21:00 Okay, you're tired of that.
21:02 I'm tired of that, okay. We've already done that.
21:04 I think it's progressive behavior. It starts with the nose ring with my daughter, then the shaved head.
21:10 What is next? It scares you as a parent. What is next?
21:14 Society's just scared.
21:15 As long as you brought up the parenting thing, let me ask you.
21:18 Amy and Bob sitting right next to you are parents.
21:21 Do you fear at all for the child?
21:23 For our child?
21:24 Well, I'm asking Grace. Do you fear for their child?
21:26 Well, I think--I hope that they're not going to go and pierce that child and shave that child.
21:32 I hope they're going to give the child the opportunity to decide for himself at 18.
21:37 I hope they're not going to go around piercing the baby.
21:40 Well, as long as you brought it up, how old is your child?
21:43 My child's 21 months.
21:45 21 months? Does your child have any piercings or anything on it?
21:49 No.
21:50 Good.
21:51 Of course not. He's too young.
21:52 No, I'm asking.
21:53 One big nail through his head.
21:56 Something just decorative.
21:58 I wanted to know, do y'all have any problems getting jobs?
22:01 Good question.
22:02 Not at all. Well, first off, he hired me.
22:04 Yeah, he hired him.
22:05 Bob worked for me for a number of years, and we lived through various changes in his image.
22:13 And he was your number one man.
22:14 And he was my number one mover guy.
22:16 I run a moving company, and he'd show up to people's doors going, "Hi, we're here to move your china."
22:20 And they just loved it.
22:22 Todd, excuse me for interrupting you, but what I wonder is,
22:25 most of the people we meet that come on the show that have a lot of piercings or shavings and stuff,
22:30 they tend to do manual labor jobs, or they work as piercers and tattoo artists.
22:37 What I'm wondering, is there a place in the mainstream world, in the business world or something,
22:41 for somebody who does this?
22:43 Yeah, we have our own business.
22:44 You have your own business now?
22:45 Yes, we have a very successful business.
22:47 What do you do?
22:48 We make our own jewelry, all this acrylic that we wear.
22:51 Yeah, it's acrylic jewelry you're wearing?
22:52 It's mainly for stretching.
22:54 Okay, so you're business people, too?
22:55 Yeah.
22:56 So, if they get people to pierce their business, get booms.
23:00 If they get more people to pierce their body.
23:03 Hey!
23:04 You know, I want to remind you before I take this comment,
23:06 that backstage we're doing a little haircutting of our own.
23:09 Okay, let's take a look.
23:10 There you go.
23:23 Alright, next, you're going to meet two sisters who are feuding over piercings, tattoos and being skinheads.
23:29 Stay with us.
23:30 Are you torn between two lovers and are ready to choose?
23:38 Give me a call. I want to tell your story at 1-800-865-7888.
23:45 [The next day]
23:47 My next guest are two sisters who used to do everything together, including shaving their heads together.
24:00 Okay, but now they're on a different wavelength.
24:03 Let's take a look at a picture of them before.
24:05 Now, do you want to meet these two sisters?
24:11 Alright, Stacy and Stephanie, come on out.
24:14 Wait, wait, come here, come here.
24:25 You're nodding your head. What do you think of that?
24:27 Not bad.
24:29 Yes!
24:32 Wait, wait.
24:33 One of you has hair and one of you has hair, what, just around the edge?
24:36 Yeah, I shave it on the top.
24:38 You know, my grandfather had that too, but he wanted it on top.
24:43 Yeah.
24:44 Why do you shave your hair like that and why do you keep it that way?
24:48 And what's the difference between you and your sister?
24:49 I love short hair and the only reason I'm growing it in the sides, I have to be in a wedding in a year.
24:53 And she asked me to grow in my hair.
24:55 So that way you could do a hat or something?
24:56 Yeah, no, I'm going to grow in the top a little bit. It's sort of like hers.
24:59 But this way I can have the length in the front.
25:02 Can you stand up and turn around for us again?
25:04 Can we look at the back of your head?
25:06 Wow.
25:07 Stephanie, what's going on with you? You used to shave your hair? Is that it?
25:10 Yeah, the same way. I'm starting to grow mine back.
25:12 Why are you growing your back, though?
25:15 Where I used to live I couldn't get a job like this, and so I decided to grow mine back.
25:20 I had an internship in D.C.
25:27 I worked for the Department of Energy on a hazardous waste cleanup project.
25:31 And I have a nose ring and my hair, and as long as you prove that you're a good worker and you're intelligent, it should not matter what you look like.
25:41 No, it does.
25:43 Stephanie, does it matter?
25:45 Oh, yeah, especially with what I do, it mattered a lot, especially in the area that I was in.
25:49 Well, I've heard that you said you're actually growing up, and that's what part of this is for you.
25:53 Well, you have to grow up eventually.
25:55 Are you growing up more so than your sister is, then? Be honest.
25:59 Just because I cut my hair doesn't mean I'm not growing up.
26:02 No, well, Stephanie, do you think --
26:03 Well, I also have a job, and she doesn't.
26:05 Okay. So you think you're growing up, and she's not.
26:09 Well, like I said, I'm 19. I have a job. She's 21. She doesn't.
26:13 She doesn't. What kind of job do you have?
26:15 I work with animal medicine.
26:17 Oh, so you have a good, legit job.
26:19 Yeah, I have a good job.
26:21 What kind of job do you have?
26:22 I work with animal medicine.
26:24 Oh, so you have a good, legit job.
26:26 Mm-hmm.
26:27 Good for you.
26:28 Thank you.
26:29 [applause]
26:33 Let me go ahead and take a question over here. Go ahead.
26:35 This comment is for the lady in the silver pants and the lady in the white shirt.
26:39 I feel as though both of them have beautiful faces, taking care of themselves very nice.
26:43 I think it's a double standard. I think if it was all men up there, the audience wouldn't be talking about them,
26:48 and they shouldn't have the hair, because it's women.
26:50 Exactly. Exactly. Thank you.
26:53 All right. That's a point. Over here, let me get a question from my left.
26:57 If this is the choice that they're making, then more power to them,
27:00 because everybody has their own styles of everything.
27:03 Just like I like wearing hats, they have their own style. So more power to all of you.
27:07 Okay. Well, once again, you haven't heard the whole story yet.
27:11 But the rest of the story with these two sisters is that it's not just about your hair.
27:14 I mean, Stephanie, you say that your sister's kind of a skinhead. Is that it?
27:18 That has nothing to do with it. That's a different show.
27:22 No, no, but it does have something to do with it. You said there's a difference.
27:26 You can be a skinhead and still have hair. I don't give her a hard time because she's grown in her hair.
27:31 My point is that skinheads are working class.
27:34 And I don't work.
27:36 If she has to grow in her hair to get a job, then do it.
27:39 I'm not to that point yet. I'm not to that point where I'm willing to compromise myself.
27:43 Well, you both are. In fact, Stacey, you brought up to us, you said ideologically you're different.
27:48 You're a lot, you believe in a lot of things that skinheads traditionally believe in.
27:54 And they can do everything together, like kill their parents together.
27:57 No, no, no, no, no. That has nothing to do, those kids are nothing.
28:02 Stacey?
28:03 That has nothing to do. I love my parents. I would never kill my parents.
28:07 Stacey, can I see your tattoo? You have a tattoo on your arm.
28:09 I have tattoos on my arms, my legs, my back.
28:11 Your back?
28:12 Yeah, you can't see it though.
28:13 We have a picture of the one on your back. Let's take a look at this, okay?
28:16 Let's take a look at her back.
28:18 What is that? Does it say something?
28:21 It's my last name, yeah.
28:22 It's your last name?
28:24 What is it?
28:25 Man, I carry my driver's license, you know?
28:27 [laughter]
28:29 It's like somebody wants to know. Perez.
28:30 Charles, Charles, I'd like to say something.
28:32 From the parents' perspective, what I want for my daughter is the best.
28:36 What I want for my daughter is a guy like Charles Perez.
28:40 Gorgeous.
28:42 But you're not attracted to her.
28:45 See, what then?
28:46 I don't want him.
28:48 [laughter]
28:55 Nicole, you're breaking my heart.
28:58 No, but she attracts these kind of people.
29:01 Mom, just--
29:02 [laughter]
29:04 No.
29:05 Please, please.
29:06 My sense of beauty and my mother's sense of beauty is very different.
29:10 For me, these people are beautiful. They're gorgeous.
29:13 And I am not into the traditional J. Crew kind of like--
29:17 I get that.
29:18 --wear a vest and tie and jeans.
29:20 [laughter]
29:23 That's okay. That is her opinion, you know?
29:27 But, Nicole, do you get some of what your mom's saying?
29:29 She's scared for you.
29:31 The kind of people you attract, Nicole.
29:33 Well, what's wrong with the kind of people I attract?
29:36 Lots of alcohol. Lots of partying, smoking.
29:41 Come on. You're 21. You don't have a job. You're going to graduate.
29:45 I don't have a job. Okay, let's look over this.
29:48 I'm in school now. I've had an internship.
29:50 I'm certified as a nurse's aide.
29:52 And I've done this with my appearance, and I'm successful.
29:55 I'm paying my own way through college.
29:57 I think you've made your point there. I think you've made your point.
29:59 You know what, audience?
30:01 I don't understand how you could want any more from me.
30:04 Nicole, I'm going to interrupt you for a second.
30:05 I think you made your point. I really do. And I respect that.
30:08 But do you remember this young lady, Michelle, that we pulled up out of the audience?
30:12 Do you want to see her?
30:14 [audience cheers]
30:15 Now, she hasn't lost her hair yet, but she's about to.
30:18 Michelle, come on out.
30:20 [applause]
30:24 Michelle, come on up. Have a seat, please.
30:27 When we come back, this woman's going to have her head shaved right here on this stage.
30:31 Stay with us.
30:33 [applause]
30:35 [music]
30:39 For tickets, write to the Charles Perez Show, 514 West 57th Street, New York, New York, 10019.
30:47 Or give us a call at 1-800-594-4466.
30:52 [music]
30:55 [applause]
31:03 Welcome back.
31:04 Do you remember the lady backstage we were seeing getting her hair cut?
31:07 Yes.
31:08 You can take a look at her right now, okay?
31:10 She's still getting her hair cut. What do you think?
31:13 Take a look at her before, when she first walked out of our audience.
31:19 You can see the difference here. Here you go.
31:22 [laughter]
31:24 Hard to believe it's the same person.
31:26 Well, I'll tell you what.
31:27 By the end of this segment of this show, Michelle sitting on our stage will be totally bald.
31:33 All right?
31:34 [applause]
31:35 Now, the man who's going to shave her head is the founder of the progressive hair club, Michael Chapman.
31:40 Michael, welcome to the show also. Thanks for being here.
31:43 [applause]
31:45 You're going to shave her head.
31:47 Yes. She's going to be beautiful.
31:49 Well, you do this for a lot of people, right?
31:51 Yes, quite a bit.
31:52 What is the progressive hair club?
31:54 It's a club.
31:56 I was listening to some of your guests here.
31:57 It's a club for people, men, women alike, who love women with really short hair.
32:03 Our members really believe that you do not have to have long hair to be feminine or a female.
32:10 It does not designate female.
32:12 Okay, well, I've got to ask you this, because I wasn't watching you shave the hair,
32:16 but some of my staff members went around and saw you, and they said you really enjoy it.
32:21 Is this a kind of a fetish in a way?
32:24 It is a type of fetish where people love women with short hair, but it goes beyond that.
32:29 It's an alternative look.
32:31 You get off on it.
32:33 Yes.
32:35 That's not a bad thing, though. That's not a bad thing, necessarily.
32:38 It's like people like different women looking in different attractive ways,
32:43 and what attracts me, she was asking who's attracted to that.
32:46 My members are attracted to that, and they love that.
32:49 And I have doctors, lawyers, and professionals that are members.
32:52 Well, audience, let me ask you about Michelle here. Should she do this?
32:55 No!
32:58 All right. Overwhelmingly no, but Michelle, do you want to do this?
33:02 Yes.
33:03 You want to do this?
33:04 I do. I'm ready.
33:05 All right. Well, before she does, let's take a look at a videotape of one of Michael's clients from earlier in the week.
33:13 Take a look.
33:14 Okay, put her on the back.
33:16 [audience gasps]
33:22 That's an awful lot of beautiful hair going to waste.
33:30 The woman who scowled, are you ready to meet her?
33:32 You want to see her now?
33:34 All right, Alicia, come on out.
33:36 [applause]
33:42 Wait. Stand up for us, please.
33:44 Hold this up. You're holding your hair.
33:46 This is my hair, yes.
33:48 Do you miss it?
33:49 No way.
33:50 No way?
33:51 No way.
33:52 You never hold it up and just try to think of what you used to look like?
33:54 This is -- I don't -- this is not anything that -- getting rid of it was the best thing that I did.
34:01 It's just hair.
34:02 Yeah.
34:03 It freed you?
34:04 Did it free you?
34:05 Sure, sure.
34:06 Wow. So, Michelle, you ready to go for the same freedom?
34:08 Yeah.
34:09 All right. Here we go.
34:11 [applause]
34:15 Come on.
34:16 [applause]
34:40 Oh, my God.
34:41 Man. Okay. You know what, Michael?
34:44 This is a little traumatic for me.
34:46 [applause]
34:53 I'll let you do the other half. I'm going to jump out here. Go ahead.
34:56 [applause]
35:00 What do you think about this as you're watching it? Go ahead.
35:03 I think she out her mind.
35:05 [laughter]
35:06 I think all of them is dessert.
35:08 Do you have a boyfriend? Do you have a boyfriend?
35:11 Do I have a boyfriend?
35:12 Yes.
35:13 Yes.
35:14 [laughter]
35:15 Several. Several. Several. Thank you.
35:19 Hold on. Hold on. I'm going to interrupt you right here because Michelle is getting down near the end.
35:23 Do you have a comment on Michelle? What do you think of what you're seeing with her hair getting shaved?
35:26 I feel like if she's doing it because she wanted to do it and not to prove a point to anyone --
35:33 So you think Michelle is doing it for the right reason?
35:35 Wait. I'm just saying if she's doing it for the right reason --
35:38 Michelle, you've lost two ponytails now.
35:40 -- but she didn't even have time to think over it good.
35:43 It's just like I'm on national TV. Maybe I should make a statement.
35:47 And she may regret it.
35:49 She made a very clear decision, though.
35:52 [applause]
35:54 Michelle, you're about bald. Are you regretting this at all right now?
35:57 Huh?
35:58 Are you regretting this at all right now?
36:00 No.
36:01 She's not sure? She's not sure?
36:03 You've got a little wisp in the back.
36:05 Our country, America, has a fixation on long hair.
36:11 Men have dictated the style of women having their long hair for years.
36:16 Even back in the 1800s, it was a law, according to the man, not to have women cut their hair short.
36:21 So this is a way for a woman to stand up and be free.
36:23 In a lot of cases, yes.
36:25 We're going to go to break as you take that last wisp of hair off.
36:28 When we come back, see how our audience members look.
36:31 Those people we pulled out of the audience, now that they're all bald. Stay with us.
36:34 [applause]
36:36 [music]
36:52 Don't just wish for healthy, shiny hair. Go out and get it.
36:56 With Pantene Pro-V Shampoo and Treatment Conditioner.
36:59 Pantene's Pro-Vitamins Penetrate Hair. Improving it to the tips.
37:03 Pantene Pro-V. For hair so healthy, it shines.
37:07 Promise.
37:08 [music]
37:15 I think some guys with bald heads are sexy.
37:17 Women with bald heads, it really depends on the shape of your head and the look you have.
37:22 And I personally would never shave my head.
37:26 [applause]
37:28 Welcome back.
37:29 Do you remember the gentleman, the first one that popped up in the audience, said he wanted his head shaved?
37:33 George.
37:34 Well, George is here. George, will you come out, please?
37:37 [music]
37:43 George, you chickened out.
37:45 I couldn't do it. My mom's Amish. She'd kill me.
37:47 Your mom would kill you?
37:48 Yeah, she's Amish. She's really strict about it.
37:50 He didn't do this because his mom would kill him.
37:53 Okay, but I'll respect you for your decision. Thank you.
37:56 Go ahead and have a seat.
37:59 All right.
38:01 Sitting in front of George was another woman, Liz.
38:05 Why don't we take a look at Liz and see what she looks like now.
38:08 You ready for this?
38:10 Liz, wait. Hold on, hold on, hold on.
38:12 Before we see her, we have a before shot of her.
38:15 Do you want to see her beforehand?
38:17 Take a look.
38:19 What do you think?
38:22 All right, take a look at Liz now. Liz, come on out.
38:24 [music]
38:29 Come here.
38:33 Okay, first of all, she didn't go all the way.
38:37 But she went pretty close. Why not, though?
38:39 Why didn't you just go all--you're this close.
38:41 Why not just shave it all off?
38:43 I was nervous.
38:44 You were nervous?
38:45 You don't want him, like, shaving and buffing your head the way he's doing to Michelle behind you?
38:48 No, she's got cuts.
38:49 She's okay with cuts.
38:51 You didn't want to get cuts on your scalp?
38:52 No.
38:53 Okay, so what do you think of this?
38:54 I actually--I kind of like it, but it takes a lot to get used to.
38:58 Well, audience, do you kind of like it?
39:03 All right, thank you. Go ahead and have a seat.
39:07 One more audience member got shaved, okay?
39:10 This is Brian. Take a look at him beforehand.
39:16 All right, do you want to see Brian now?
39:19 Come on out.
39:24 Come on over, Brian.
39:27 What do you think, audience? Yes? Yes? No?
39:33 Okay, mixed results. What do you think?
39:35 I think it looks different.
39:36 You think it looks different?
39:37 Yeah.
39:38 Do you like it? Do you think it's kind of cool?
39:39 For now.
39:40 For now?
39:41 Yeah.
39:42 So it's not that big of a deal, is it?
39:43 No.
39:44 Okay, cool. Well, thank you, Brian. Go ahead and have a seat.
39:48 I want to come back to Michelle, okay?
39:51 Because Michelle's just getting finished up here.
39:53 You kept a little bit of hair here, right?
39:55 She's got a little tiny braid. Michelle, you haven't seen yourself yet.
39:58 Do you want to take a look at yourself?
40:00 I'm going to ask you to step back.
40:01 Let's turn her over this way. I want the audience to see her.
40:05 And here you go. For the first time.
40:10 Wow.
40:14 What do you think now?
40:23 All right, let me take a question right here. Go ahead, comment.
40:25 I think you have to have the right shape and the prettiness of the face to make it look good.
40:30 The girl in the middle, her hair is so long it don't look right.
40:34 Liz right here, her face is too fat. It don't look right.
40:38 She looked better with the hair.
40:42 The girl in the middle, the girl in the white, don't do nothing for Amanda.
40:45 He's not going to do for you.
40:54 You know, I don't think it's going to happen, but I want to know how many of you would like Paul to cut his hair off.
41:02 All right, one more comment. Quickly, go.
41:05 I have a question for Paul.
41:06 If you love her so much, why don't you cut your hair?
41:09 You like your hair more than you like her.
41:15 Yes, I am. Yes, I am.
41:17 I'm proud of that. All right. We'll be right back. Stay with us.
41:23 Are you torn between two lovers and are ready to choose?
41:27 If you're on the phone, give us a call. I want to tell your story at 1-800-865-7888.
41:42 All right. Welcome back. You had another question or comment.
41:46 He said that the reason why he wanted to cut his hair off is to prove that she loved him.
41:50 Now that she proved that she loved you, why can't she get her hair back?
41:54 If she wants to, although I think she's the most beautiful girl in the world, Paul, if she wants to grow her hair back, if you want to grow your hair back, that would be wonderful.
42:08 All right. Okay. Congratulations to both of you. Thanks for joining us. We'll see you next time. Love you, Philadelphia.
42:18 And now a special thanks to chaos in Kansas City for entertaining the audience and to taking us off air.
42:28 I said I got what you need. So.
42:38 (yells)
