People living in a village where a 56-year old murder mystery has unfolded say they've been left in shock and hope the bereaved family finally get answers.

Pinxton, which is just over the border in Derbyshire, is where local miner Alfred Swinscoe vanished in 1967 on a night out to a pub.

Yesterday police revealed bones found in a Nottinghamshiure field six miles away in April are Alfred's remains - and they believe he was murdered.

His family say while they're relieved to have finally found the father of six, they now hope people will come forward with information which could lead to the killer.

Sam Hurst has been to the village today, where she was shown the very spot outside the pub where Alfred went missing after he'd handed his son Gary money to buy a round. The news has shocked local residents.
