A woman was physically removed from a flight in handcuffs to cheers from fellow passengers for allegedly being 'drunk' and causing a disturbance.

Video shows the woman being dragged down the aisle by police officers as she is handcuffed.

A passenger, who alleged the woman was drunk, filmed the incident on a Southwest Airlines flight in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.

They said: "When you get removed from your flight and arrested for being too drunk.

"@Southwest Airlines your flight attendants handled the situation perfectly.

"They asked her nicely to get off the flight, but she refused numerous times, so they called in for assistance.

"The police did try to remove her without force prior to the video, but she wasn’t having any of it."

The video shows passengers, heading to Houston, Texas, cheering as the woman is forcibly removed.

The woman, who hasn't been named, can be heard saying: "Can I please have my phone?

"No, I literally need my phone. I paid for that. I'm literally so confused what's happening."

The footage was captured on May 29th.
