A new display focusing on the life’s work of Stephen Hawking has opened today (May 25) at Manchester’s Science and Industry Museum in the city centre.

The famous scientist and celebrity - most known for his battle with motor neurone disease - had a remarkable input on science and innovation throughout his life, and the museum is unveiling a new display to showcase significant objects from his office.

The display will also include details of how Hawking’s work connects to Manchester,  as discoveries by city scientists paved the way to developing two of the most important ideas about our universe - quantum theory and general relativity.

The display offers visitors a chance to see some of these fascinating objects up close and learn more about Hawking’s remarkable life.
