Donald Trump has vowed to appeal against a jury's verdict that found him liable for sexually abusing a newspaper columnist. The New York civil jury awarded E Jean Carroll $5 million after ruling on Tuesday 9 May that the former US president had sexually abused and defamed her. Mr Trump rejected the verdict, implying the jurors were biased against him and claiming US District Judge Lewis Kaplan had somehow directed the lawsuit's outcome. He described the judge as "Trump-hating" and "Clinton-appointed".
