00:00 Hi guys! Today on DevaSinCook I'm gonna show you how to make this quick and easy
00:04 homemade pizza. This is my go-to recipe for whenever I'm craving that hot fresh
00:09 homemade pizza but I don't have a lot of time you know I'm saying I got things to
00:13 do but this is so easy you guys are gonna love how quick this comes together.
00:17 Let's go! Okay we're gonna start on our pizza sauce first. I'm gonna dice up this
00:24 garlic into teeny teeny tiny pieces. Get them as small as you can and next we're
00:30 gonna go ahead and dice up some of this white onion into little teeny tiny
00:34 pieces as well. Get it really really small okay small as you can get it. Alright so I'm
00:38 gonna add some olive oil into my skillet. I'm gonna spread it around a little bit
00:42 and then I'm going to add in my onions and garlic whenever that oil is nice and
00:47 hot. We're gonna go ahead and simmer this until it's nice and fragrant and the
00:52 onions are nice and tender. Alright now it's time to add in our diced tomatoes.
00:57 I'm using plain diced tomatoes. I drained them and then I put them in a food
01:00 processor so we can mild smoothen stuff and you can really use any flavor you want.
01:03 Oh my god that fire roasted kind is the bomb in this sauce and also the Italian
01:08 kind is the bomb but I'm using the plain tomatoes and next comes one of my
01:11 favorite ingredients. What is it? Do you know what it is? Chicken broth! Love
01:16 chicken broth but you can also use water or a little bit of wine. Oh hello sexy.
01:20 I'm gonna go ahead and bring it to a nice little simmer. Next I'm gonna add in
01:24 some Italian seasoning. Lots and lots of Italian seasoning. I'm gonna add in some
01:28 Parmesan cheese. If you have fresh basil throw it in there. Don't throw it in there.
01:32 Okay I'm gonna add in some brown sugar. Yes to kind of you know level out the
01:36 acidity of the tomatoes. Now go ahead and stir it up. I'm gonna bring it to like a
01:41 little simmer okay just to kind of steam out all that liquid and you guys guess
01:45 what? Add a splash of red wine and it's done. It does not have to simmer all day
01:49 once you put it in a pot reduce it down. It is done. We are winning. This took no
01:55 time at all and it tastes so doggone fresh and flavorful. Let's move on to our
01:59 crust our pizza dough. I have some warm water here. I'm gonna throw in a little
02:04 bit of sugar. Stir it around just like that and next I'm gonna take my yeast
02:08 packet shake it like a Polaroid picture. I still love that song. Go ahead and throw
02:13 that yeast into that warm water. Stir it around a little bit and then we wait. We
02:18 wait and we cross our fingers and we pray that our yeast proofs and it did. It
02:22 got all nice and bubbly and foamy. That's what we want. The yeast is ready. Go ahead
02:25 and put this into a large bowl. Then we're gonna add some olive oil because
02:29 pizza dough loves olive oil. Olive oil. I'm gonna throw in a little bit more
02:34 sugar here and then I'm gonna add in my flour. I've also sifted some salt into my
02:37 flour. So go ahead and just add that into that bowl and next we're just going to
02:42 add a little bit of Italian seasoning. Some Parmesan cheese into that little
02:46 crust there. Okay go ahead and mix it up really good until a nice dough begins to
02:51 form and this looks great just like that. I'm gonna go ahead and dump this out
02:56 onto a lightly floured surface here. This dough is a pain. Let me tell you something. I
03:01 hate this dough. It is so bougie. It's like hard. It's not a fun and fluffy and
03:06 squishy dough at all but you know I'm gonna go ahead and add a little bit of
03:10 oil to my pan but what I've discovered is that if you keep your hands greased
03:14 with olive oil, this dough pretty much just melts and it's just kind of just it
03:18 it becomes really friendly and it's easy to work with. Make sure you keep your
03:22 hands greased up and the dough is like a dream to work with. Go ahead and press it
03:27 out into your pan. I have a 12 inch pan here. Press it out and I'm gonna cover it
03:31 up with some plastic wrap and put it in a warm location for about 30 minutes. You
03:35 don't have to do this. I have skipped this step plenty of times but I like a
03:38 thicker crust so I'm gonna go ahead and let that rest. Besides, I need time to
03:42 prepare my toppings. Yum! I got some turkey pepperoni, some green bell peppers,
03:47 some black olives. I'm gonna grate my cheese and make sure you grate your own
03:50 cheese. Don't buy the pre-shredded kind of stuff. Go ahead and grate it yourself.
03:54 You know it's worth it. It melts better. I just like it better. Next, I'm gonna
03:58 prepare my green bell peppers. Oh my gosh you guys, normally I would add
04:01 some banana peppers. I live for banana peppers but I ran out. Oh God, why me?
04:06 Okay, yeah I didn't have those. Alright, let's go ahead and put this pizza
04:09 together. I'm getting bored. Alright, so go ahead and spread out that. Look at that
04:11 sauce. Yes you guys, all chunky and perfect, flavorful, beautiful. Spread it
04:16 out, okay, and as much as you like. This makes enough for one pizza. The sauce and
04:20 the crust, everything is just for one pizza. Sprinkle on lots and lots of
04:23 cheese. Gotta have lots of cheese, okay. Gonna add my turkey pepperonis. Always
04:29 eat a few. You have to eat the last turkey pepperoni. You have to. And then go ahead
04:32 and add your black olives. You know, you can put whatever you want on your pizza.
04:36 Since this is just my pizza, I get to put whatever I want because I'm home alone.
04:39 My boys are gone, so this is just for me. We're gonna bake it for 25-12 minutes and
04:44 boom! Look at that. Oh, he's pretty. Yes, go ahead and take it out of the pan. It
04:50 just slides right on out. And then go ahead and cut it up. This was like the
04:55 dullest, the dullest pizza cutter I've ever had in my life. Look at that. It
04:59 would not cut this pizza for anything. I was struggling but it didn't matter.
05:03 There's your piece and here's my piece and the pizza is done so quick and easy.
05:09 Pizza for a weeknight, you guys. There's the inside, okay. Inside crust, perfect.
05:14 Nice and thick. Perfect yeast crust. Love it. And there's the bottom side, nice and
05:19 golden. Love it. I hope you guys enjoyed this recipe. Don't forget you can find it
05:24 on my blog at DeeWhitsonCooks.com. Thank you guys so much for watching. Later.
