The fountain consists of a series of jets that shoot water up to 500 feet (150 meters) in the air, synchronized with a variety of musical pieces ranging from classical to contemporary. The fountain is surrounded by a boardwalk where visitors can watch the show up close, as well as several restaurants and cafes with outdoor seating offering spectacular views.
The Dubai Fountain performs daily, with shows starting at sunset and running every 30 minutes until late in the evening. The show typically lasts around 5 minutes, but varies depending on the music being played.
The fountain was designed by WET Design, the same company responsible for the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. It opened in 2009 and has since become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Dubai, drawing millions of visitors each year
