UCU Rally at Buchanan Steps in Glasgow

When the UCU strikes are scheduled to occur in February and March of 2023.

The UCU strikes will have an impact on more than 2.5 million students as university personnel join nurses, ambulance drivers, and train workers in disagreements over pay, terms, and conditions.

It has been announced that more than 70,000 employees at 150 universities in the UK would go on strike for 18 days in February and March in protest of wages, working conditions, and pension issues.

The University and College Union, which called for the strikes, will have an impact on more than 2.5 million students (UCU).

They join the nurses, ambulance drivers, and railway employees who have been absent from their jobs in protest of their individual wages and working conditions.

Yesterday, university personnel participated in a second walkout after the first one on February 1.

The UCU rejected a pay offer from the Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA), which represents university employers, on February 3. The union will continue to strike for the next two months in response to this offer.
