The Love Generation - album Love and sunshine (the best of) 1967-1969 (2002) part one

  • anno scorso
One of the many sunshine pop groups that proliferated in Southern California in the 1960s on the wave of success of the Mamas and Papas. The original line up was active from 1967 to 1969 recording two albums, the third album was a record conceived and interpreted by the two leaders the Bahler brothers with the addiction of various session musicians and vocalists. Densily crafted blends of male-female vocals harmonies and orchestrated pop/rock with lyrics often tapped into the most optimistic and innocuous traits of the early hippie generation, with references to love-ins, sunshine, summer, dreams, candy and magic. The Love Generation were a studio band and never toured.

Marilyn Miller, Annie White - vocals.
John Bahler, Tom Bahler - vocals, guitars, organ.
Mitch "The Count" Gordon - bass.
Jim "Little Flower" Wasson - drums.

Groovy summertime.
The love in me.
Hey, look around.
Not to be found.
She touched me.
Meet me at the Love-In.
When the sun goes down.
Playin' on the strings of the wind.
Consciouness expansion.
You.
Leaves grow grey.
The bunner (guide me home).
