Rabbits, also known as bunnies or bunny rabbits, are small mammals in the order Lagomorpha's family Leporidae (which also includes hares) (which also contains the pikas). Oryctolagus cuniculus includes the European rabbit species and its descendants, which include the world's 305 domestic rabbit breeds. Sylvilagus contains 13 wild rabbit species, seven of which are cottontails. The European rabbit, which has been introduced on every continent except Antarctica, is well-known around the world as a wild prey animal as well as a domesticated livestock and pet. With its widespread impact on ecologies and cultures, the rabbit is a part of daily life in many parts of the world, serving as food, clothing, a companion, and a source of artistic inspiration.
