Apparently, playing in the first division on your favorite team can be real hell for some people, or at least it was for Ted Smith.
He was Southend’s goalkeeper and, although he had shone in England’s second division and made a direct leap to sign with Mourinho’s Tottenham, he decided to retire at the young age of 24.
What the hell happened to him while he was at his peak that made him never want to see a ball again?
