Mum remodels a Little Tikes car she bought on Facebook Marketplace into amazing VW van for her daughter

A mother has remodeled a Little Tikes car she bought on Facebook Marketplace into a detailed VW truck - complete with real hubcaps, a badge and license plate. Kennedy Chugg, 25, wanted her nine-month-old daughter Stella to have a more practical toy, rather than an ipad and a TV, so she spent two weeks remodeling the toy. The TikToker and realtor from Ogden, Utah, USA, spent $70 (£60) on materials, including painting supplies, real badges and hubcaps from VW cars. Kennedy first painted it in yellow and white from the original red, which took two days. She then added real badges and hubcaps from VW cars alongside chrome details, and a stick-on Hawaiian number plate. Kennedy and husband Zack now scoot Stella along in the car - as she hasn't quite worked out how to propel it herself. The response to the project online has been incredible, with the first installment reaching a massive 10 million views, and the follow-up almost 600K. Kennedy says Stella hasn't quite figured out what the car is for yet, as she doesn't know how to push it around with her feet, but loves getting pushed in it. She said: "I thought the project would be fun. I'm a novice at DIY, but I feel like this was an accessible project for me, as it's mostly painting. "It has a super fun retro feel. A lot of Stella's toys have a pretty eclectic style. I had a really great childhood playing outside with real toys, and I wanted her to have the same. "She hasn't quite figured out how to push herself around in it yet, but it's been really fun doing it together. "A lot of people went crazy when they saw the first video, and they really love how it turned out in part two. "Lots of people have commented that they had similar cars growing up and that it brought back memories."
