These shocking photos and videos show a massive blaze at a derelict hotel in Bristol city centre. The fire started at the abandoned Grosvenor Hotel near Temple Meads train station. It is thought it began on the ground floor, just after 10pm last night, Tuesday, October 18. Witnesses reported seeing the fire all over the city, with flames reported up to 18 metres high. Avon Fire and Rescue said there were no casualties, but people were evacuated from neighbouring buildings and roads near the hotel were closed until 6.30am today. Fire crews from as far as Bath and Weston-super-Mare were called to help extinguish the blaze, which ravaged the building which was due to be refurbished as part of the Temple Quarter project. The cause of the fire is still unknown but Avon and Fire Rescue said investigations have now begun.
