Iraqi Yezidis gather at the Lalish temple for the annual autumn assembly, the largest and most important Yezidi festival. The temple, which is located in a valley near the Kurdish city of Dohuk in the Kurdish autonomous region of Iraq, houses the tombs of Sheikh Adi ibn Musafir and other holy figures. The site is considered to be the place where creation began and where God descended to rule the earth.
