Thistle had Glasgow to themselves for this last 16 tie and a healthy 15,872 were there to see it. Outside left Jimmy Muir equalizes for Brechin City one minute later. 1-1 half-time. The 'keeper makes another dreadful error in the second half, redirecting the ball into the path of Thistle's Tommy Ewing. With 3 minutes to play, George Smith makes it 3-1 to Thistle with a shot from around 12 yards, although we don't actually see the ball hitting the back of the net.
