10 Day Sailing Challenge

We set sail five days ago on a ten day dynamic sailing challenge. A bit of a personal challenge as a family to sail as a crew using tides, tidal streams and the wind to choose our adventure and destinations based upon the options than nature places upon us. It was an ominous day, we were under prepared as we needed to say goodbye to a friend who's time on this planet is coming to an end. Thunder, lightning and rain filled the sky and we felt uncomfortable that we could only leave on a late tide. We knew we had a six hour sail and we would arrive in darkness at low tide in a shallow bay to drop anchor. We had a collection of uncomfortable feelings about this day but you had to get out of our comfort zone to truly have an adventure so we decided to take the challenge and so we sailed out of Shoreham and began our journey.
