A Crest scholar accuses Marianne of being the wandering beast in the Edmund Territory, attacking and eating innocent people, all because she bore the Crest of the Beast. The professor angrily told him to leave. After apologizing to her mentor, Marianne told a story about a forgotten hero named Maurice, who once teamed up with Nemesis and the Ten Elites to save Fodlan, over time, he transformed into a beast and began attacking people. When knowing this, the people grew to hate him and stripped him of his honor of being a hero. Few people bore the Crest of the Beast and the curse along with it, Marianne's birth family is one of them. After mentioning the curse, the professor got an idea about killing the beast to lift Marianne's curse and clear her name. She wants to try, but knows she can't do it alone and asked to bring allies along with her.
