“They/Them” is a new slasher film from Oscar-nominated writer John Logan. Set at a conversion camp run by Owen Whistler (Kevin Bacon) a group of queer campers must find a way to escape with their freedom and their lives.

Caitlynn McDaniel caught up with the inspiring group of actors and asked how they brought these characters to life.

“She’s the embodiment of what I wished I could be when I was younger,” Monique Kim said. “There was definitely a lot of self-work, stuff I had to bring to her because it didn’t feel like me at all. But she’s definitely rubbed off on me.”

“They/Them” premieres on Peacock on August 5.
