Recorded in Pittsburgh with the Nathan David Sextet in 1971 "Makatuka" is a record of hard bop music with virtuoso horn playing, from the range of saxes and clarinet (palyed by Favis) and some glorious trombone by Harrison. The album also features vocals by Wheeler R. Winstead, whose soulful groove adds another dimension to an album chock full of surprises.
