Wedding party brings London tunnel traffic to standstill after celebrations spill onto busy road

A wedding party brought the Limehouse Link tunnel in London to a standstill and caused major queues as celebrations spilled onto the busy road. Guests Abdi Yusuf, 19, filmed the scenes as party-goers were seen dancing and blocking two lanes of traffic around midnight on July 5th. Abdi, a student and aspiring Twitch streamer, from Newport, said: "It was one of my mate's wedding who married a Yemeni. "It's a Yemeni tradition to drive around the city with a convoy of cars to party." Abdi's friend is a Somali, and according to Abdi, it is not common for these two cultures to intermarry. He added: "It's called a Zafaa. So we thought it was a good way to bring the two different cultures together." Reactions online, however, were mixed, with many criticising the party. One comment read: "How are these people not instinctively ashamed and embarrassed to be part of this crowd?". Another added: "I love this, it's so wholesome". Abdi said: "I've seen a lot of positive comments and also a lot of hate but it's a tradition and no harm or inconvenience were meant. "We just wanted to enjoy our friends wedding."
